He obviously stuck it back on when he was on the sidelines but, as brilliant a footballer as he is, Lucas is no surgeon.

How did Spearing play ?

Until Gerrard returns I suspect he'll start some games now if Lucas is out . Obviously he might not be in the same league as Wonderman but he can do a job and after some decent performances towards the end of last season he probably deserved some more minutes this .
 
Spearing is an able deputy and has proved his worth to this club on more than one occasion.

Didnt Xabi Alonso once try to run off a broken ankle ;D
 
throw henderson in the middle with adam, downing/ kuyt and maxi on the wings and suarez and bellamy up front, we'll score too many goals to have time to let any in, plus it looks like adam's learnt to tackle these days rather than just rolling into people

We only need Lucas for the big games and away matches anyway. All the lesser sides play exactly the same sort of football - park the bus at Anfield, they never play any different. Lucas has been holding us back against these anti-footballing sides, so this injury is obviously going to be a blessing in disguise.

Against Chelse. Lampard did him. He stamped his foot into the ground to try freeing it up.

Didi scored against Milan in the shootout with a broken foot.

Yeah, I hope we ignore the obvioud deficiencies in our team in attack, wide midfield and in general creativitiy and buy a defensive midfielder. I mean, it's fine having Lucas be the best in the league at that role currently, but really we should be looking for the fucking sliced bread of defensive midfielders. That's our priority.
