He should just retire..

That being said this time round is not so much a setback..

The wee chap is unable to keep up with Klopps training methods, until he does, he won't get picked

Probably something in the Rodgers - Hodgson row last season over how Studge should train..

Though I'm loving Klopps tough stance, indirectly calling him a bit of a fanny.. Basically Studge needs to toughen up..

Klopp's playing it shrewdly, I think. Studge posts those stupid 'I'm ready' messages and Klopp's treating him like the invalid he is. Personally, Studge's happy-go-lucky appearance these days drives me mad - he should be racing towards his peak and preparing for a spectacular European tournament in the summer, so the time spent on the sidelines ought to be destroying him, but he's still swanning about like there's nothing wrong in the world. He needs something to wake him from this weird stupor he's in.

Klopp's just making him work and wait for 'another chance to come to our rescue'. At least that's what I'd like to think. I find it very difficult to believe this continuous injured status, it borders on incredible.

I have started to wonder if Sturridges fitness in the season we finished second had anything to do with playing alongside Suarez, was he focused on the competition he had with Luis or the success of the team and not his own bodies niggles?

That gif makes it all worth it for me. The genius behind it made something far more enjoyable and rewarding than watching Sturridge have an actual career.

Klopp has said he have to train for 9 concecutive sessions before being ready or something.
He hasnt been able to that yet.
Studge hasnt had a proper pre season since 2011. Think he said Studge had some small problems which is the latest set back.

Klopp is doing the right thing here, I like it. Even though you'd hope he would be ready to face Arsenal and Utd.

I've said before a few times (what are we on here for but to repeat ourselves, eh?) that I always felt there was something off about him as a Liverpool player from the off - he didn't feel like ours and watching him play at his peak for us, he was just weirdly too good to be true.

He may as well not exist as far as I'm concerned. He hasn't registered for a long time.

Yeah I know what you mean Keni - he just "cums" and goes. Fucking strange - and when he was that good you think why the fuck did City, and Chelsea let him go. Now we know why - he's a fucking pussy.

I've got problems with two sides of this dickheads issues. Firstly he's obviously a fanny and not physically capable of being a top level athlete, BUT, Klopp may not be handling this right in respect of, if we were flush for goalscorers then I'd be all for making him wait and train for 9days etc, but the fact is that this is our worst goal scoring season for a century or something stupid, so he might aswell take a punt on him, what have we got to lose, we're in desperate need of goals. It doesn't matter if he trains for 9days or not, that's bollocks, he'll still be injured in a months time regardless.

Good question. I'd go for a version of the second of those suggestions. A fair bit of the Studge's problem is in his head, and I suspect that was effectively bypassed while he was riding the wave of a fantastic season when everything we touched turned to goals.

There's something I'd add though. Maybe because of the above, at least partly anyway, we seemed to have got a handle on his injuries too. It's hard to overstate the damage that idiot Hodgson did to our fortunes when he ignored our requests on how to train the Studge for England. 😡

I'm beginning to think that Hodgson may have thought that Sturridge was malingering whilst on England duty and it's easy to see why. If we really had got a handle on his training and injuries surely we could have returned him to that regime quickly but we are now talking a season and a half since his last run of games for us. You wouldn't get the luxury of spells of absence like this in a regular job, it's fast moving to the time when something has to be decided.

Seeing as he's likely to be taken to the Euros with Engerland, and then returning crocked, he's unlikely to get in that much-needed full pre-seson this year, either, so I can't see how Klopp can plan to move ahead with him as an integral part of the team. You just can't rely on him to play enough games.

Hodgson more or less said as much, yes, but he can't seriously have thought we weren't aware of the full situation and hadn't designed the Studge's training regime accordingly. Against that background his refusal to follow it with England was criminal and fully justified the outrage from the club at the time.

I agree that things are dragging on way beyond the point, but I struggle to see what else we can actually do in practice. I strongly suspect we'd now get only loan takers for the player and that's no use to us at all. We might just as well keep him here and keep working with him, because there's no doubt about his quality if we can sort things out.

Yes, Hodgson's obduracy was much more down to his own arrogance. Making any player play on for the full match, in a friendly, when knowing he is carrying an injury is just outrageous behaviour. And then ignoring the club's advice for training is also a disgrace. It would be wrong to retrospectively re-write Hodgson's actions as in any way justified.

How much money is Sturridge on?

Formally £150,000 a week, although there are several provisos (mainly performance-related) that need to be met to reach that figure. But he certainly gets close to that.

What klopp is saying kinda makes sense I reckon.

He hasn't had a full pre season since 2011 & all his injuries since have been pretty different ones, suggesting his body has never been fully up to playing when he's been returning.

Let's face it each time he returns we expect him out within a couple of weeks. I don't see any problem taking the gamble of keeping him out for a longer period in the hope of getting him fully fit once again.

I'd be surprised if we hadn't done that before, surely we know already that we need to be overly cautious with him?

We have done this before with Sturrridge, he already had a no rush back / let's get him right opportunity from what I recall.

I thought the thread was about Anderton dying or something.

That was my first thought too. But I didn't look at who started the thread.

We nearly bought Anderton, I think. After he played very well against us for Portsmouth in the cup.

Moron has a strange had of shoehorning genitalia and bodily fluids into nearly every post he makes.
