Good news.

However I'm still clinging on to Aquaman.

I personally think Enrique will be a massive improvement for us.
Not so sure about Dann.
Aquilani is A-quality.

Our new left back, hopefully:

I want Aquilani to stay but I can't see it happening especially that we need to sell in order to buy.

Telegraph says Jose Enrique is edging towards a move to #LFC as the clubs get close to agreeing a £6 million fee

Good news

Northern Echo chief football writer Paul Fraser said tonight that he's been told we're close to doing something re Enrique.

another unexciting player.

Heh, he looks great going forward, not sure about defensively though but he's quick and skillful and is a great passer.

Similar to our right back then.

Think he's quite good defensivly actually. Watched some Newcastle games lat year and his defensive capabilites impressed me. Good pace on him aswell.

Yep. All round he's a very good left back.

One of the best fullbacks in the premiership.

I'm very happy with this signing.

Like I've said before Flanno and Robbo aren't ready to be 2nd choice. They both need time. This might sound mean but at the moment Flanno is another Stephen Wright IMO.
I was all excited because he's a young scouse up and comer. But I don't think he has the potential to reach the required level of a Liverpool player. I hope he proves me wrong. Carra did.

I do see alot of potential in Robbo though.

He's fucking average, and in 12 months time we'll be hoping we sign someone better.

ryan seems far too close to the situation. can anyone other than ryan give a fair assessment of whether enriqué is any good or not

I've seen him on several occasions and think he's actually a very good fullback. He's pacey and actually a good dribbler going forward. Not renowned for his defending, but his positioning has always looked pretty sound to me, don't think he's "bad" at stopping attacks by any means.

I think he'd be a snip at £6m.

Ryan is being typically extreme. I think he's a good player. Mobile, decent in the tackle, and a competent footballer with good vision and a very handy left boot. He links up well with the midfield, too. He has been a little inconsistent, but if Kenny and Steve can fine tune him then I think he could be a very good fullback. Worth the risk at £6m.

He's a midtable left-back is what he is.

After a few good game for us he'll be in the Spanish national squad I reckon. It always works out that way.

The good news is that a Insua is rumoured to be part of the deal. If that means we have to pay a couple of mill extra, then so be it...

I like him. Strong, quick, mobile for a strapping lad with a good left foot. Comfortable on the ball and gets up and down the flank to good effect.

I think he'll be an integral part of an excellent left-side for us and can see him linking up with Downing well. Of course, should Downing play right side at times, Enrique will still provide us with natural overlapping width on the left (something we've been lacking).

In fact I'll predict that Enrique/Downing will be the equal of any other left sided (left-footed) pairing in the league. We're getting both as they are hitting their peak.
