If we sold Babel AND Riera, and wanted to replace them with two LWs but spending a lot of money on one of those LWs, and we could get Duff for a couple of million as a second choice LW, and he wanted to come in spite of the probability of spending most of his time on the bench, then I'd say it was a decent idea. Assuming he can pass our stringent medical exam of course...

JJ is right - turned us down twice in fact - once when leaving Blackburn, and again (albeit on an informal basis) when his days at Chelsea were numbered.

Somewhat strangely he said to a couple of guys that I was with that he "loved" where he was living, and couldnt ever see himself moving away, certainly not "up North"......within 8 weeks he had signed for Newcastle, and 3 months after that the house in Blackhills was up for sale! Fookin Newcastle - it'd be fuckin difficult to actually move any further North, without wearing a skirt and face-paint.
