There are only two men on the planet that I love more than that man.

And I shared a home with both of them growing up...

Great interview with Kenny.

How cool is it seeing Ronnie Moran still at the club?

Brilliant. The whole feel of that interview tells me the club we know and love is coming back, and that man Kenny is the main reason why. BTW I visited Melwood in Redknapp's day (on the Alan Kennedy tour) and boy, has it ever changed.

Wonder how Graham the kitman got his nickname. ;D

Nice advert for those morons at Koptalk there

They're advertising themselves via illegal use of copyrighted material. Very Dunk-esque.

Dalglish pre-match conference (Birmingham)

[flash=400,300]http://www.youtube.com/v/8llYvg4M2Po[/flash]

Vinny "Is it true that Agger has had a operation?"
Kenny "No. Why?"
Vinny "I've heard a little whisper"
Kenny "Does your missus work in a hospital or something?"

Vinny probably cries himsef to sleep every night.

Ther was a PC with Kenny attending the signing of contracts of a bunch of 8 year olds this week too.

Disagree somewhat, Avvy, in that the King has the gift of knifing the media with a twinkle in his eye, so I don't actually think they mind much (if at all). One of the numerous benefits I can see accruing to the club from having Kenny in charge is a change in the way the media treat us. With a bit of luck the old monster down the E.Lancs.Rd.will be seen to suffer by the comparison too.

Between 4.12-4.20

I wish I could "un-see" what I just saw. High treason, by the King himself!!! 😉

The thing is, Vinny O'Connor gets it in the neck everytime from Kenny, but when the cameras are off they get on like a house on fire, so I think it's friendly banter more than a 'you're a hack, you can piss off' mentality from Kenny.

I really dont trust this commoli chap and have a bad feeling he has agreed to bring in someone else to manage us. He messed up at spurs and i hope the owners realise the impact of getting rid of Dalglish next season on the players and potential signings.

Is it within his power to appoint a manager?
I am not sure but his job title gave me the indication he has a very big say in footballing decisions which may include appointing and sacking of managers in addition to player acquisition and contract renewals.

I don't think so. It would be the biggest ever PR screw-up if they did that. The owners are too savvy to piss off the supporters that way.

Yeah I sense the dark side of ambition with Commoli but we'll see. This summer will be key. I can't see Kenny wanting signings shoved down his throat by a lad who loves stats but couldn't hit a bArn door with a ball..

Well, there were reports that Comolli was one of those within the new management structure who were resistant to appointing the King initially, but I wasn't too concerned because TBH it wasn't hard to understand that from his point of view. I doubt he's plotting against the King now - both his job and his reputation would soon go west if he were now instrumental in squeezing the King out and our form nosedived afterwards.

As far as summer is concerned, I suspect the same arrangements we were told about when Roy was around will still apply, namely transfer decisions to be taken by a combo consisting of the manager (the King now, thank Crunchie), Comolli and Tom Werner, and I'm sure the King's views will carry a lot of weight with the other two. They've both seen what an improvement he's brought about, and they both know which side their bread's buttered.

It was like the good old days at Anfield on Saturday. But the truth is there is nothing new or revolutionary about the methods Kenny Dalglish is using to transform Liverpool's fortunes.

A 5-0 thumping of Birmingham City underlined the impact my old team-mate has made since taking over the manager's role once again.

The feelgood factor has most definitely returned. And, more than anything, Dalglish has raised expectation levels among the players and supporters. That is the way things should be at Liverpool.

It's not new-style management, though. These are old-style tricks. Different managers have different methods, but from what is being shown on the pitch, Liverpool's players are simply enjoying themselves more.

The greater the enjoyment, the harder you seem to work. Training for a professional footballer can at times be a bit of drudgery, especially if you aren't in the team.

But Liverpool's squad are obviously enjoying themselves at Melwood and are all having a go when called up for the team.

Look at Maxi Rodriguez at the weekend. He hadn't played for a month, and it may well be that he has perhaps been thinking of going back to South America in the summer.

Yet from his hat-trick and his comments afterwards, it's clear Maxi has bought into what Dalglish is selling. All the players have.

People understate the importance of confidence and spirit in the dressing room, but those are qualities every successful team has in abundance.

Seven points from the last three games against Manchester City, Arsenal and Birmingham is an excellent return, particularly considering the absentee list.

The youngsters have come in at the right time. If the likes of John Flanagan and Jack Robinson had been thrown in during the first half of the campaign, it would have been very difficult for them.

But they have come into a team on the up. As a young player, you don't want to be taking your first steps in a team where the senior players are struggling for form.

The youngsters, though, have been a bonus, and Dalglish was right last week to state their emergence should not be used as an excuse not to splash the cash this summer.

Ideally, Liverpool need to sign at least half-a-dozen new players. Yes, some of those could be the odd 30 or 31-year-old to help bring the youngsters through.

But it would be unwise to place more pressure on those fledgling talents than is required.

Dalglish will know that Liverpool cannot progress to the level required without an injection of more senior, established players during the transfer window.

Liverpool's run of form, and Tottenham Hotspur's faltering recent results, has opened up the very real possibility of a top five finish for Dalglish's men.

Getting back into Europe can only help in terms of attracting new players, but even if Liverpool fall short, it's evident to everyone they are once again going places.

Has anyone heard any more about this Motion?

I can't think of a more fitting honour for him.

Many of us have often bristled at that prick up the road getting a Knighthood; and we correctly argue that if he deserves one on the strength of his success, then both Bill Shankly and Bob Paisley are just as deserving, if not more so.

But perhaps we're all wrong on that accord; because if there is one man arguably more deserving than ALL of them of an honour like this, it is Kenny Dalglish.

Not only has he been a great servant to the club both as a player and as a manager, but he has stood by the club and the city during very very dark days, at great prsonal and emotional cost, and even causing him to lose his health and by that token, his job.

Not only has he also stood by and assisted efforts to discover the truth of Hillsborough and helping the families, he's even helped (through aiding Marina) in gathering support against cancer and helping to open a cancer medical facility in Liverpool.

The saddest thing is that hs name probably wouldnt have even entered our thoughts had he not come to the aid of the club once again 4 months ago, so obssessed were we by the recognition given to that other prick just because he'd won a shedload of things.

I deeply deeply hope he gets this recognition.

More deserving than Shanks or Paisley? Personally I wouldn't go that far. Agree with all the rest though.
Its debateable, off the pitch kenny was there for the club in it's darkest hour to the point it affected his health and on the pitch kenny was responsible for arguably the best footballing side this country has ever produced.
