Thought he was the only bright spark.

The only guy who looked to be positive. When he got the ball he looked to go forwards first rather than sideways, and he's a breath of fresh air. Won the free kick for the pen, and countless others. Nearly scored goal of the season on his own.

He really seemed to find his confidence in our 1st team today (not that he's been lacking before, but this was different level) , and is the player I hoped Keita would be.

This crisis will hopefully be the making of him. Looking forward to him running the show on Wednesday.

He would have come more of age had he smacked that attempt away late on when he burst through the midfield and waltzed through their defence.

I think if he adds a couple of goals soon he'll be one of the first names on the team sheet before the end of the year. Well deserved
He's not afraid to pop a shot away, goals will start coming. He is playing like one of the senior pros at the moment.

I think he's doing well, and I've singled him out before for his discipline and maturity. He needs to go up to the next level soon. He's not quite doing enough, not quite taking enough responsibility, not quite showing enough initiative. That's the next step. But this is going to be his season in terms of becoming established in the team, I don't doubt that.

This is almost exactly what I wanted to put I think.

He is not doing badly by any stretch of the imagination, and is clearly progressing; plus he’s only 19. Its just that to me it doesn’t look likely he has the weapons in his armoury right now to make one of the midfield spots his own on a permenant basis (and he may well be expecting to, given the undoubted ego). If he can keep those expectations in check, and continue to work hard he will be a really really decent player in the longer term.

I think from what I'm seeing, this is underselling him.

I think he's ready to show he's the best creative and attacking option we have in midfield.

When CuJo did his amazing run towards end of the second half it looked as though he was about to have his Gerrard Vs Sheffield W moment.

It's funny whenever the hacks ask Klopp about Curtis, you can see him trying to find a way to say he's a cocky little shithead without actually putting it like that, and praising him without quite saying anything that the player will get to hear and overreact to. They're managing him very well.

It's the defensive work rate they've instilled in him that has really impressed me. Earlier on this year he appeared a player who only enjoyed the game when we were in possession, but he's seriously applied himself and can now influence the game all over the pitch. He's quickly proving he's got the hunger and talent to match the self-assurance he exudes.

I cannot speak highly enough of him this year.

His emergence us undoubtedly one of the bright spots to emerge from our deluge of injuries. Hes got a way to go yet before youd start him when everybody is fit but his progress has been great to see. Hope he can start to show a little bit more of the guile/creativity he obviously has in his arsenal.

Question sir - don't you think 'the next level' is when he'll be given more freedom etc from Klopp? It seems, as most of us complimenting him on discipline etc, that he's playing within a certain framework ...

That's what I found most impressive in the last match. He did the donkey work, yet still started to find a consistency in being able to create at the right end. Something all our midfielders struggle to do. E.g. Gini fantastic play etc etc and we love him, but doesn't really offer a consistent threat going forward. Or players who create like Shaq (if you can remember him) who are not trusted to do the defensive work.

Curtis started to do this whilst not neglecting his responsibility within the system.

It's a good point. What I mean is that Klopp gives his players very specific positional responsibilities, but he also wants them to exercise the judgement to know when to show initiative, when to express themselves and when to take a risk. And that combination takes a huge amount of maturity and discipline and intelligence. And I think the next level for Curtis, now that he's begun - and it is still early days - to master the positional discipline, is to evolve into being able to keep doing that whilst also bringing more of himself into games. And that can't be forced, but it will be his next challenge (and of course it can't happen in a vacuum, it partly depends on his teammates being aware of it, supporting him and knowing when to cover for him).

He couldn't have better mentors in Hendo and Gini for learning discipline & positioning. The game time will be crucial, particularly as he plays in more important games with a much more important role.

If Fulham is anything to go by, the kid has it in his locker ... such an exciting player.

He's going to score tonight, and get sent off later in the game, and someone is going to post a thread titled Curtis comes of rage.

If my dream is anything to go by that is.

It's really interesting how much better he is in just a few games
He's gone from a squad player to someone who should stay in the team no matter what

Bump.

He's improving really quickly and we're starting to see a bit more of the swagger shine through.

Hopefully by the end of the season his progression will spell the end of at least one of our injury prone midfielders.

Most likely it will be Ox. But he‘ll make a great full-time tea lady.

So impressed by him. Thiago’s injury has done him a massive favour. He seems to be getting better every game
