It was on the light side, i'd agree, but it was a foul, and I think VAR would have given a penalty if the positions where reversed.

If two players are fouling each other, play isn't affected. Otherwise, if the rules need changing, change them.

None of this changes the fact - and it IS a fact - that the decision was correct under the rules as they stand.
