City (A) post game

Our defence was a fucking shambles. They looked dangerous every time they attacked. We on the other looked fucking toothless especially in the first half.
Oh and fucking Moreno.

Look at me
Look at me
Look at me

If I remember correctly, Coutinho mainly scored and created goals against the top teams last season.

He didn't score against many at all. He was generally quiet for long periods against many top teams, if you peel away the wild hype that's lavished on him. There were times tonight when he didn't even look up when he passed the ball infield. He tried a silly back heel again without looking. He gets away with this stuff when the team is doing well around him but far too many times his isolated moments of excellence are used to excuse the sloppiness that surrounds them. I'm a fan, honestly, but it's getting to be a bit of a joke this over-indulgence.

What about Moreno? He made a mistake on his debut in a new league and a new team, he looked promising for the most part, is he your new pet hate then?
So I can't complain about him. Good to know. He was Man of match. You happy?

I was hoping Lambert would score given that great opportunity. That would've really rocked City and we might've had another six minutes of madness.

But he wasn't the only one passing up a chance though. Sturridge aside (because he'll shoot more often than not when he sees an opening), the other guys need to remember that Suarez is no longer around to carry the scoring load; they'll have to put their foot through the ball and try more often instead of shying away from shooting.

You haven't complained about him, you said "Oh, and fucking Moreno", which more or less repeats what you said in the match thread, typical nonchalant "I've already made my mind up about this player", shite. Do me a favour.

Until the goal I thought our defence looked good. Decent shape and well marshalled.

Yep, we seemed to lose it after the goal and discipline went out the window, we exposed ourselves more and more and got punished.

He scored important goals against City and Spurs, and orchestrated the wins against Everton and Arsenal of I remember correctly.

I think he also scored against either City or Chelsea in the first half of the season, and scored a key goal late on in a match we were struggling in (Sunderland?)

You're doing it again ... We didn't get 'pummeled' - the scoreline doesn't reflect that both teams were actually pretty evenly matched. They - as I said - are champions for a reason and don't miss opportunities ... We missed all of ours too.
Jesus Christ, what I can't complain when we lose like we did?
Ok, it all looked great. We were unlucky, they were extremely lucky. The grass was wet, and it was too cold.
Based on the two games I've seen us play we look like the best team in the premiership.

Tougest away game done then. Onwards and upwards. I expect a better defensive performance against Spurs.

AND A BALOTELLI GOAL OR TWO!!! Whohhhoooo

You're acting like Cher again ole chap ... we were beaten, 'struggled' whatever ... but pummeled? Please - you make it seem as if we were QPR and they were Spurs.

I think the defence could do with a DM helping and protecting them, and picking up runners. We don't currently have a DM that's capable in the team. A proper DM would have been a big help in games like this.

You're better than this sort of childish post, I think.

Am I the only one who thought Skrtel had a better game than Lovren?
Carra and Neville have given some (not all) blame to Lovren for every goal

He was out of position for the first. Shouldn't have pushed up so high for the second. And was out of position for the third.

Well, there were a couple of scares, usually coming down our right before that, but generally agreed with this. That first goal deflated us coming so late in the first half. And then that second goal just knocked us down and we looked shattered and lost all our organization after that.

You're being a dick Modo, you said "we got pummeled", in the context of the game we didn't at all, we for the most part were comfortable but were undone by typical slack defending. You made it sound like we got battered, we lacked in certain areas and they were clinical, but we undid them plenty of times and were unlucky to go in behind at the break.

You obviously know what people are trying to say, so why continue saying stuff like "ok, we were brilliant. Happy?", try and see a bit of perspective for once, you're exaggerating points and being deliberately sensationalist.

New defence but same old problems. Lovern was poor, as was johnson. Studge looked it of sorts up top as did couts. Still early days though. Don't really want to be losing away to spurs either

i think we look a lot better with the diamond formation, hopefully studge and mario start our games and when both arnt available lambert should start with the other, we look tame with one up front. Johnson was a bit of a non entity, no major fuck ups but he offered nothing, some fuck ups from moreno but he offered a lot more going forwards and its his first game for us so i dont think we can judge him too much. Thought Lovren looked good and i cant wait to see the lazar tearing up the league, think he'll be a corker for us

I didn't see the analysis, but I think it's fair to say he could have done better for each of them.

His going to be very good for us, but it's worrying that he's now been beaten by three little flicks behind in two games.

I don't think he'll be the answer for us long term. Hopefully proved wrong

I think the first bit of action should be either the defence listens to him and pushes out or not.
Thought he had a good game all in all.

It's far too early to tell. Let's see how he fares once we have a more settled back four that has at least played more than a handful of games together.
