Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

You're more outraged about what someone having a go at his ineptitude retweeted than the issue at hand. Tens of thousands of people unnecessarily dying because of said ineptitude

Dress it up however you want, it's fucking weird

No, I'm being slightly suspicious of someone claiming something because other things they have claimed appear to be fucking stupid.

And again, I haven't been defensive or particularly supportive of anything the Government has done; I do think mistakes have been made, and even perhaps corrected, but who knows yet? The situation is changing all the time. Johnson is not doing anything more (or less) than listening to his own scientific advisers, and the idea that if we'd only had fucking St Jeremy of Corbyn in charge, with his own super-special scientific advisers flown in from Venezuela or fucking China, then we'd all be doing fucking great, is risible.

And banging on about death rates vs Italy/ Germany/ US/ France/ whatever those lying cunts in Beijing are saying is just ridiculous given the obvious geographical, social demographic, ethnic, testing criteria and myriad other factors that have to be - and are not - taken into account, and yet are still weaponised politically.

Mistakes will be made, people and governments held to account, and this will happen across the globe. But why now? Nobody knows enough, and about half of what everyone is saying is either wrong, ill-informed or just a total fucking lie.

No.. but it's good timing that Labour continue to implode. I'm pretty sure their ghouls and the likes of the Beeb will flood the media and social media with this story. While the Tory's continue to get a reprieve from scrutiny about their gross negligence that's led to people dying and stuff.

Yeah how come this LabourLeak isn't on the front page of every newspaper, the lead story on every news bulletin and the top item on BBC/ ITV/ C4 news?

IT'S A SCANDAL!

Mistakes? I am the first person that would love to live in a world were you creating a situation which causes thousands of people to die is a mere mistake. Alas it is not this world.

Are you on the SAGE board? Would explain a lot.

Either way, it's strange how COVID-19 has finally unified the entire scientific community and there are no dissenting voices or conflicting opinions at all.

No, everyone else in that boardroom would have contracted the disease in a freak coincidence had I been.

Sara (OH) works for Mazda and also our local Marsdens, she is very likely going to become dep. manager there when this all lifts. Anyway, for the last couple of weeks we've been putting bags of non-perishable items and essentials together with the pub and taking them into the community for mostly elderly/ill/vulnerable people who can't get out. Aside from one gobshite who took the piss, its been a lovely rewarding experience. We took a bag this morning to an elderly local who wasn't aware we were going to be dropping a bag off. She cried, it was heart warming, but eye opening. How many people are left like this without support? She recently had major surgery and hasn't been out for 5wks, but has been getting support from her kids. An old guy I know who is dying of cancer also had a bag from us yesterday, he's the type who would usually be too proud to accept help from anyone who wasn't family, but he needed this and he and his family couldn't thank us enough. People really are struggling like fuck through this, while lovely Doris and his cronies continue to gamble with people's health and futures.

How? I haven't lied or made up data or accused anyone of racism for being right about everything.

You're asking why people should be asking questions of your beloved regime, while we are currently paying the price for various elements of its pathetic response. Pathetic bootlicking behaviour

No I'm not, I'm pointing out discrepancies and ulterior motives. I haven't actually praised our Government's response, or any elements of it, nor have I promoted or linked to any positive reports of anyone else doing that, because I'm not interested.

All I've done really is react to anything posted that is fucking stupid, or wrong, or annoying in general, and the same would happen if it was "Boris Is Great! The Government Are Benign And Brilliant And Superclever! It's Not Their Fault*", or essentially the equivalent of any of the fucking shit Frog Xi Ping and his mate were posting, before I trampled all over it and they shut the fuck up.

Maybe I'm just not very good at boot-licking. But what I am good at is being contrary.

*I know that sort of pro-Tory bollocks is never going to occur here, which also skews what I react to. It's called maths. If 90% of the political content is anti-Tory and pro-Corbyn, and, say, half of that content is fucking bollocks, the only stuff I react to is going to seem to be attacking the left. If it was a right-leaning Forum, the opposite would occur. It's a fact I've always been aware of, but can't do much about really.

Even when I'm right - Corbyn is unelectable, Labour is riven with antisemites etc - it's seen as an attack, as opposed to facts.

Same with the Brexit debate, which I never once came out in favour of, or indeed voted for, or Trump vs Hillary, but still some cretins thought I was a Trump-loving Tory Brexiteer, because I found so much of the discourse hilariously demented tin-foil hat conspiracies and said so.

No, you said people were happy people were dying so that they could have a go at your glorious leader, posted a load of conspiracy theories noone else had mentioned so that you could debunk them even though noone supported them, and then asked why anyone should even be asking questions about why this country has made such a bollocks of this response.

I used the ridiculous conspiracy theories as a contextual comedic device, despite all of them being things I have actually read on Twitter, to cast aspersions on some of the exact same ridiculous conspiracy theories - Boris faking his illness, and the ramped-up deaths crashing the economy and forcing a hard Brexit - espoused by whoever that cunt on Twitter was that appeared to start this little spat.

Flakmagnet or whoever, who posted, liked or retweeted both of them.

So, my point was, and still is, I'm not sure I quite believe everything Flakmagnet says, considering he's an FBPE fucking nutjob who, in the short, foetid trawl I was able to endure through his timeline, liked/ Retweeted posts about "Boris fake Covid" and the "high death rate and crashed economy being part of a Tory plot to enforce a Hard Brexit".

I'm sure there's more, but who could be arsed?

It might help you to distinguish conspiracy theories that invent false facts to promote the fact itself (e.g. flat earth), and those which invent false facts to explain an other equally unbelievable fact (e.g. the government's ineptitude). The latter are not as delusional or mentally ill as the former.

The government response was to believe advice that closing schools and stopping people breathing within each other's vicinity does not work as well as you might think at containing infections, because mathematical model magics. Far better to just wash your hands as any fool knows.... that didn't work out so well to my own utter shock and surprise. An easy mistake to make. Their next response was, uhhh fuck we don't want to look like idiots for following the most retarded advice in the history of advice, so uhm yeah no let's still keep the schools open, we were right about that you see, we're not changing our minds, trust us, just don't do this other stuff. They made this second "mistake" to avoid being criticised for the first "mistake". The reason for that mistake whether it is a conspiracy, or laziness, does not matter. The outcome should be a coup d'etat and anything that pushes us towards that end is nothing but right. Flakmagnet is doing good works.

Hi Flakmagnet

Yeah but people have been making and importing this shit for years. That is obviously all still fine. The problem that loads of UK businesses have is in being ignored when trying to help using existing supply chains. Meanwhile the govt gives a massive contract to Dyson, which won't be ready any time soon when they're needed.

It's fucking nuts.
I read somewhere that there was something like 45,000* offers to produce ventilators ? That figure may be wrong but it was indeed an astoundingly high number. Which brings about its own issues in trying to assess those offers. So it's no surprise then that there are numerous companies now saying their offer was ignored.

*NB. I may have mixed the that figure up with those offering to produce any item of PPE.

At last Frog Xi Ping makes a salient point. Took a while, but well done anyway.

Yeah because posting links to sources is lying and making up data. Unlike the racist scum S*n group employee you are, who has been called out and battered from pillar to post in this thread by a plethora of posters simply because, in your typical lazy-arse fashion, you have nothing to offer but your opinion, whatever little that's worth.

Trampled all over it !? You deluded toerag. You have out-Trumped Trump with your deluded egocentricity. You've been derided and belittled by so many in this thread I've given up counting.

Oh, I see there's one unlikely statistic from Frogfish you've chosen not to question

An actual fact is we've sourced 480 ventilators since putting the call out. 15 a day when we wanted 10,000 in a month.

All praise our glorious leaders

I have bossed this thread like some kind of omnipotent God-King, calling out your lies and bullshit and laughing at you from the start.

Derided? Belittled? By whom?

Every time I've been "called out" - and I'm being kind even referring to the tedious interventions as such - it's been resolutely cut down and destroyed with fire, much like your beloved wet markets should be.

It's been immense fun though, Froggy Xi Ping, thanks. Have a Pango Special* with all the trimmings on me.

*Ingredients: Pangolin fillet, marinated in bat juice and five different spices for 4 hours, and served in a delicious fresh artisan baguette, topped with crispy snake skin and fresh herbs.

** Yeah, we know where you perfected the art of counting, so giving up seems a great idea.

Yes it is unlikely however there were a plethora of companies offering to produce PPE (I haven't been able to find it for the moment), that figure maybe in the tens of thousands and I may have mixed the higher figure up with those offering to produce any item of PPE and not just ventilators.
It may simply be hundreds not thousands, the exact figure is not that important as what was obvious was that trying to sort through that lot was going to be a major issue so it's likely the Govt. ignored most and just went with large established firms. Why that response has been so slow is another question.

And there you have it. Brendan has discovered the Copy/Paste function. That's all you're really capable of. Repetitive childish BS. You have been destroyed by multiple posters, get over it (not that your ego could ever indulge such a notion).

If you think you've bossed a topic in which pretty much everyone thinks you're being a weird nobhead, let me show you a post that got 17 likes, in case you missed it. 17 likes is more the thing to be considered when weighing up who is bossing who, above some arbitrary self love.

No one is happy people are dying

What is wrong with you? Like, at your core? What is wrong with you?

And it's not cynicism or nihilism, because I'm fully on that train.

There's something there, that means you're missing empathy or sympathy. Perhaps not as dramatic as Dante's, but autism could explain something I guess?

You're in the perfect industry I suppose, as they're shit scared of challenging Boris/Hancock/some cunt on why we were so ill prepared too. It's not China's fault we were so ill prepared, so stop fucking banging on about them. The government knew the NHS was grossly unprepared 3 years ago with the trial they oerformed. They didn't give a fuck and continued to waterboard the NHS.

It was government that could have prevented a majority of these deaths if they followed the advice given to them and learned from other countries failings. But no, we're British and science doesn't apply to us.

We're still not screening inbound flights at Heathrow.

The government being this incompetent, and STILL defending them is just fucking weird, that's only echoed by right wing columnists who want to get a whiff of Johnson's taint, in the hope it leads to a cushy position

Except you're doing it on a football forum

It's dead fucking weird

*Ingredients: Pangolin fillet, marinated in bat juice and five different spices for 4 hours, and served in a delicious fresh artisan baguette, topped with crispy snake skin and fresh herbs.

** Yeah, we know where you perfected the art of counting, so giving up seems a great idea.

You've had your ass kicked so many times on this thread you probably wished you had corona instead.

The fact that you have to resort to this Froggy Xi Ping bullshit shows that you know how badly beaten you are.

Before you swallow the spin here’s every MP that voted AGAINST a nurse pay raise.
Some of whom cheered and punched the air at their 'Win'

Isn't it spin to be calling it a vote against nurses getting a payrise ?
