There have been 16,428 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed by the Department of Health this evening, the highest daily total since the pandemic began.
This eclipses the previous highest total of 13,765 new cases confirmed on Christmas Day.
There have been 22 newly notified deaths in the past week, bringing to 5,912 the total deaths related to Covid-19 notified in Ireland.
The test positivity of swabs confirmed today was 45pc, meaning close to one in two people tested had Covid-19.
As of 8am this morning, there were 568 people in hospital with Covid-19 - a four-week high and an increase of 47 on yesterday. There are 93 people in ICU with the virus, up one from yesterday.

Besides.. I didn’t discredit the article - the people who published it did that, by basically saying don’t believe anything we publish without first asking someone who’s qualified to give you actual advice.

My child, if they think that disclaimer will protect them from being sued by pfizer for lost revenues, just the same way pfizer's righteous disclaimer protects them from being sued by those impure vermin whose cursed bodies are cleansed with fire and blood within 28 days of recieving our lord's gift, then they are gravely mistaken.

Ross posts something that the disclaimer at the bottom of the page effectively says “ask a medical professional” before following any advice we give.
I dunno... shall I ask my missus who has a BSc in Anatomy & Cell Biology, a BSc in Paramedic Science, a post grad in Forensic Science and is a serving medical professional (Paramedic), what she thinks?

I mean... the link tells me I should speak to a medical professional that’s qualified to give some advice before taking seriously the advice it gives.... but Ross apparently knows best.
Such a conundrum - do I believe the guy the fanatically posts anything and everything that supports his “belief”, even if it tells you it to be wary of believing it and then claims your a sheep for not believing it, and posts absolutely nothing that deviates from that line, or do I believe an actual frontline medical professional?
No you should trust the scientists who are recommending a third and fourth dose of the same vaccine that didn't work the first or the second time.

I got 5 mins in - before the missus rather amusingly said “the average jo-blo would lack the critical analysis skills to assess this information properly and would likely just go with the headline”.
If you want to print out all the slides and a transcript and post it, she’d be more likely to read through it and help you understand stuff - she might even get some additional expert opinion... you know, like the website recommends before taking anything it says as “accurate” or the “fitness for any particular purpose”.
Maybe someone of a legal mind could shed some light on the meanings within the disclaimer... does anyone come to mind?
So... I should instead believe the Canadian website that tells me not to believe anything it says without speaking to an actual medical professional.
