Chinese "Devil Virus" - anyone worried?

Anyone listened to the Peter McCullough episode on Joe Rogan? I'm not sure if my bullshit meter was going off or not, but he was listing so many reports, studies and data to back up his point it was hard to keep up. But even if a fraction of what he said is true, then the whole thing is fucked.

The problem with people on Joe Rogan is they suffer no scrutiny so you can't tell if they're making it all up. Rogan is the American Jonathan Ross. Tells everyone they're great, nods at all their bullshit, laughs at all their terrible jokes, doesn't put any pressure on anyone about their research.

I'll give it a listen anyways. Lex Fridman had a good one about the lab leak a week or so ago. Only problem, it's five hours long.

He was decent with the Twitter folk (Dorsey and the lady - forgot her name)

He gets the occasional great guest. The recent Chuck Palahniuk one was ace. He's just way out of his depth when he gets edgelord researchers on.

Yeah that was the issue with me with this McCullough one. There was no way of knowing whether what he said had any merit, because nobody was there to challenge him. Not necessarily expecting Rogan to in this case as he's not a doctor or a cardiologist. Would be interesting to see McCullough debate someone, which Joe proposes at the end.

Rogan did have a go at that Sanjay Gupta though and had him squirming on occasion.

I'm half-tempted to go back and listen to the doctors he had on a year or two ago and see who've been proven right. I remember he (as well as Russell Brand) were bringing info to light about the lab leak that was outright being shut down elsewhere at the time. Obviously now it's looking extremely likely that that was what happened. Will listen to the Friedman one.

No, it's just a complete lack of respect for science, pretending it's some sort of debate, treating it like a religion, a faith based cult, oh oh my scientist is smarter than your scientist so there. Fuck off out of science, stop using it, stop citing it, stop trusting it, stop pretending it gives validity to your comical faith based beliefs, stop pretending that listening to it makes you superior than conspiracy theorists, you basically know nothing and have no interest in learning, so just fuck off out of it and stay out. And that's it.

Of course. Just mildly annoyed at your delusional coping strategies that paint me as conspiracy theorist. A fact check on who is on whose level was long overdue.

So we need to stop following the science, and defer to the scientists. But not those scientists, these scientists. And we shouldn't discuss the science, because we're not scientists, but we should look at the science objectively and marvel at the science. But we shouldn't follow the science because we're not scientists and will never be capable of following the science.

Bret Weinstein ones usually involve the pandemic too

But Weinstein admits he's not an epidemoligist or virologist or pharmacologist or data scientist, so he fails the Dantes test.

Because it was a fucking lab leak.

Hahaha, yeah. Certainly looks that way.

If you're after a crash course, @HC watch Russell Brand's videos on the subject.

I think they're all the pertinent ones if you have a fair bit of free time. And as Woland said, watch Lex Fridman's podcast on it. It is nearly 5 hours long, though. But the evidence is overwhelmingly stacked in favour of a lab leak.

It was always the likeliest explanation despite the fuckers that funded the bioweapon development pushing long and hard to discredit that theory.

And the usual gimps fell for that.

There's loads of stuff on it. Even mainstream media is slowly coming around to the idea.

I think it's about the only thing that the conspiracy theorists may be right about, but not sure we'll know for sure on it. Being right about one thing, obviously doesn't mean they're right about anything else.

Have a look at what the experts got right.

Off the top of my head ...

- no evidence human to human transmission
- the vaccine will prevent transmission
- herd immunity will be reached at 60-70% vaccination
- the vaccine is safe.
- heart problems aren't caused by the vaccine

The experts have been wrong about fucking everything.

Depends how far you're willing to go with the conspiracy theories. There's a shitload of them along a wide range. Some reasonably plausible, others (5G, microchips etc) not so much.

People who wear “anti-5G” pendants to “protect” themselves from radio frequencies emitted by phone masts have been told by the Dutch nuclear authority that their necklaces are dangerously radioactive.
Owners of “quantum pendants” and other “negative ion” jewellery have been advised to store them away, as they have been found to continuously emit ionising radiation.

The product alert was issued by the Dutch authority for nuclear safety and radiation protection (ANVS) in relation to 10 products.

“Exposure to ionising radiation can cause adverse health effects,” the safety agency said. “Due to the potential health risk they pose, these consumer products containing radioactive materials are therefore prohibited by law. Ionising radiation can damage tissue and DNA and can cause, for example, a red skin. Only low levels of radiation have been measured on these specific products.

“However, someone who wears a product of this kind for a prolonged period (a year, 24 hours a day) could expose themselves to a level of radiation that exceeds the stringent limit for skin exposure that applies in the Netherlands. To avoid any risk, the ANVS calls on owners of such items not to wear them from now on.”

There's a spectrum of this shit though isn't there. I mean it's not as simple as the vaccines are or aren't safe. They're pretty fucking safe, safer than loads of other meds and on balance a very good idea. I think ket is safe, but others disagree. It's safe as fuck.

The human to human thing wasn't a conspiracy theory and no-one believed it anyway. It was CCP lies.

Herd immunity was a guess, not a conspiracy theory. Etc.

The theory I can get behind that gets zero press time is that the govts of pretty much everywhere are using this bullshit to gain extraordinary and weird powers, and to shift more wealth from the many to the few. It's pretty obvious that this is happening and it's pretty obvious why the media are pointing at other stuff.

And if it wasn't a lab leak the Chinese would have proven where it came from by now. No-one wants to talk about it because the outcome is war.

Of course. Vaccines are safe, they work (actually better than MMR), Covid is real and something we need to address. The vaccine side affects exist, but are vastly over stated.

What is true, is it could have been a lab leak, companies are making shit loads of money, governments love a crisis and are performing poorly.
