So 25,000 unvaccinated and 25,000 vaccinated.

So the high numbers of cases is incorrectly labelled as the result of the unvaccinated.

I get the disproportionate impact, but lots of vaccinated people are in the case numbers.

It'd be incorrect to say the vaccine doesn't decrease you're likelihood of getting Covid. I really don't think you get proportionality. Cases would be far lower if 100% of all age groups had the vaccine, and far higher if 0% had the vaccine.

We wouldn't have Delta if it wasn't for the vaccine. No vaccinations would have probably led to less cases (and more deaths)
 
Delta was discovered in India in December last year, about a month before they had their first vaccine. What makes you think it was caused by the vaccine?
 
Was there not a worry that a new variant would develop in one of the poorer countries that couldn't afford to quickly vaccinate their population? It seems this is what's happened.
 
I think we're best just locking down forever and hoping the government give us free pizzas

Pretty sure, outside of the clinical trials, nobody was vaccinated anywhere, let alone in India, before Delta started. What suggests it did cause it? Would have to assume if the vaccine did cause more dangerous variants, we'd see more appear in highly vaccinated countries and less in unvaccinated, right?

Quick side note..there's been a lot of dickhead comments in the thread.. driving Jews to concentration camps is right up there.

While the rest of the stock market crashed and burnt today my covid stocks jumped 20+% which is great news.
Id quite like Saj and his mates to keep scaring the shit out of everyone for another fortnight so the stocks keep jumping.
Meanwhile payday will have come and gone and I'll hopefully catch the bottom of the other stocks and crypto before they figure out comicon virus isn't that bad.

My first reactions to this are yup I see the point re vaccines and big pharma.

I also thought how the heck would a one govt world work.. like it doesn't make sense and I don't see it happening any time soon.

I also didn't think we'd be locked inside our houses for months on end a few years ago.. so what do I know.

Isn’t that also one of the lab theories - that COVID developed from research work at the Wuhan lab on drugs to combat HIV?

the new virus has hit Israel - 3 cases.
all 3 people who had the virus were vaccinated - not sure where they are etc, but so far, nothing reported on their health (or lack thereof)
 
PCR testing back for anyone coming into the UK.
And masks to be made compulsory in some public places.

I don't want another lockdown.. and again luckily I have invested in a UK testing company another thats involved in making masks.. hopefully I'll make some money at least
 
Why would the mutations in this variant be overwhelmingly located on the spike protein targeted by the vaccine? Such an unfortunate coincidence, these things happen, just one of those things, you just have to say it's plain old bad luck, nothing for it now but to get your head down, and adhere to the next lock down as hard as you can.
