I don't now enough about what's happening in Europe to offer an opinion, so I'll pass.
In Israel, 40-50% of the 'positive results' nowadays are kids between 5-11.
There is still a ton of people from two population sectors who are not vaccinated.
The most popular vaccination here was pfizer and it seems to be the one with the shortest lifespan of being effective.
They're already talking about a 4th booster for those who took pfizer.
The covid #s here are going up but hospital issues etc are still very much under control.
It's tough to tell if spreading is being done by the kids (hence, the push to vaccinate them - hence my thread earlier) or because the vaccinations, as you imply, are now opening us to another strain (and wave #4 I think - lost count) or just losing their effectiveness.
Japan's vaccination level which I think has to be part of their success story (for now)

Yes, after reading through threads, you need a safe space. Like what the fuck. Either you are mentally very fragile, unbelievably so, or else the issue isn't reading. The issue is those threads end up with you being stupidly wrong about basic things, and it's that regular embarrassment which you want to stop. I'm pretty sure it's that.
As vaccination rates go up, restrictions and social distancing measures lessen.
You’d think that has something to do with increased infections.
In the same way that masses of people being in lockdown and not being able to exercise properly has undoubtedly had an impact on health, particularly their hearts.
The experience in Melbourne where we’re starting to hit 90% vaccination rates is that we’re not spiking up significantly despite everything pretty much getting back to “normal” and hospitalisations remaining “stable”.
Deaths from COVID are largely skewed to unvaccinated - but even that doesn’t tell the full story because all these figures need overlaid with details on age and pre-existing medical conditions to get more of an idea.
End of the day - I got vaccinated, didn’t develop a heart condition, haven’t caught COVID, the vaccine and all the tests have cost me zero financially, as have the lockdowns (if anything they’ve saved me money) and I can pretty much now go anywhere and do anything I please as per normal.

I’ve been made to wear a mask at times - which is barely an inconvenience. I’ve had to endure countless lockdowns, which are shit, but, not the end if the world and I have to scan a QR code when I do my grocery shopping, which again, I’m ok with.
Equally, I’m not lashing stuff out on social media or waving placards outside the Victorian Parliament - my missus and most of her close friends are medical professionals who are far more engaged in it, impacted by it and stricter on it than I am.
There are plenty of other shit things out there as well.

"Going to shit" is a bit dramatic at the minute. Cases and deaths still a lot lower than they were months ago in South Africa and Botswana where this new variant has apparently been discovered

I agree, mate, some of it is way overboard.
There's certainly plenty of unnecessary media hysteria about it.
Just because there are small spikes in countries with barely any of the virus doesn't mean it's likely to outcompete Delta. And if it can't outcompete Delta then it doesn't matter what else it can do.

I think some governments were completely and utterly fooled by the Big Pharma companies, giving them immunity from the effects of the vaccine and believing that they were the way to end the pandemic. Having believed them about the effectiveness of the vaccine and how there would be no more lockdowns, and having ordered way more vaccines than needed to double jab everyone .... well it's hardly surprising they're trying the same thing that hasn't worked already.
But you can see the Bilderbergers lining up to also push their one world Government agenda too.
Why would they go overboard? Surely it would be a bad thing for the economy, it would be a bad thing for their popularity too, so why would they do it?
