However, they are now trying to spin it by saying Cummings was dropping his son off to be looked after while he and his wife self isolated.

What I don’t understand is how out of all the horrible things Cummings and this government did, this is what’s going to bring him down. Surely their inaction and stupidity at the outset of the crisis were far more consequential than a guy visiting his kid in Durham?
Exactly. But everyone knew Al Capone was mafia, they just couldn’t legally prove it because the mafia was exceptionally good at making witnesses go quiet. A politician is judged by the pubic opinion, not law - so how come it took this for public to turn on him? Rhetorical question, I know.
Surely when there is a review or inquest for how the government failed to act with stopping the virus spreading, they’ll both get done anyway.
