They deserved it, they were calmer in front of goal, it's a shame because there is not a more odious bunch in world football... Ah well...
Gutted we are out, more gutted I cant repeatedly punch Martin Tyler in his face while he tries to give his closing bias.
Over the two legs there was nothing in it really so if we can improve with Sturridge ( dear God..) then we do have every reason to look forward to the remainder of the season.

Why play Lucas further forward than Gerrard? Madness
Our mistake gave Chelsea their goal but we only have ourselves to blame for the squandered chances.
Well... I like a lot of the players we have, especially Can, Markovic, Lallana, Sterling, Sturridge, Henderson, Ibe, Coutinho and Sakho. There maybe one or two I'm missing. But in general I am starting to completely lose faith in this manager. He just makes too many mistakes. And can't seem to coach for a win in a big game. City last year is looking like the exception to prove the rule.
Rodgers has an infatuation with shit players. He only seems to settle on the good ones when results force him to.
What mistake? we had more than enough chances to win that game.
Costa, the perennial almost-invalid, is a fine footballer but it's a shame he is also a thug. Suarez, of course, would snap every now and again, and that was reprehensible, but Costa is at it non stop, from start to finish. I hope Rodgers throws a grenade in his post match conference and asks when refs are going to notice it. Mourinho wouldn't leave without putting down that sort of marker.
Gerrard had the energy of a much younger man, but also, alas, the temperament. Too many rash passes and shots when keeping the ball in play was more sensible. Still a shame for him to go out.
We've got a potentially fantastic set of attacking players, and they ran their hearts out tonight, but they must learn from this. We have to be cooler and far more clinical in the final third.

Nah purely our own failings. If you need a scapegoat blame Henderson for an incredible miss.
We can't really, considering he covered more ground than anyone and worked his bollocks off. If you want a scapegoat, blame the half-arsed showboater Rodgers brought on.
Niall Quinn. I agree. We were better for 3 out of the 4 halves.

Also, when you look at the clear cut chances in both legs, we missed the majority of them.
It's heartbreaking when you see what a ridiculously powerful creature he is, but there's no brain there.

Was he protecting him from a second yellow, that is the only reason I can think of.
Spurs. Arsenal. Everton. City. Last year and all big games. This is an over-reaction. Understandable, but Rodgers out-coached Jose for most of these two games. The substitutions are very debatable. I am guessing that Rodgers was playing a slightly different game in bringing both Mario and Lambert on.
But, our set-up created many more chances than theirs did. And, our defense (except for the goal) tonight was impressive over both legs.
Rodgers can't put the ball in the goal himself, but he gave us a chance too. We simply didn't take it.
