Can't complain.. ref was over-officious but we've been beaten fair and square today.

Carra's been poor on both goals.
Insua is not good enough.
Riera and Kuyt are too slow.
Lucas is still a passenger.

Perverse game; until the second goal we were largely good in defense and shit in attack.

Torres and Gerrard were both anonymous today. Aside from that, there was pretty much nothing to choose between us until the goal. And let's face it, Chelsea are about the best front runners in the game.

Disappointing, but hardly surprising.

Two mistakes two goals but we were worth a point. We had more possession and more shots ... we just didn't follow Rafa's edict to hit the target.

and we've already lost 3 games. no team has won the premier league from this position. what makes you think we can? its not as though we were unlucky in the 3 games we've lost so far.
 
We have been shite defensively, and this result was always coming. We haven't played well against any good teams so far. The only positive is that, we can only get better at both.

We have to choose a partnership between Carra/Agger and Agger/Skrtel, and stick to the one that works best. No time for sentiments and half measures. Skrtel/Carra partnership is clearly not working.

Lucas needs to be dropped, he is a passenger in the team. He is waiting for other players to do their job and that is not a luxury we can afford when we pair him with Mascherano.

I didn't think there was much in it tbh. Dull game, decided by a mistake. Yossi managed to create a few little sparks when he came on, but not enough. I would have liked to see a more positive third sub, but other than that I don't really think you can blame Benitez.

Positives? Skrtel played better than he has all season, and United dropped two points yesterday.

We need to beat United at Anfield now...

I thought Masher had a great game ... that mistake aside. It was a terrible error to lose the ball in that situation when we were throwing men forward and he is the one supposed to be anchoring the midfield in case of a break away.
 
this will get me flamed but I don't give a shit what anyone says, gerrard is not having a good season. maybe the court case is still playing on his mind. also lucas flatteres to decieve, masher is the holding midfielder, that being the case, lucas offers next to nothing going forwards I've not seen aqaulini but I doubt he'll be worse than lucas.

I'm quite sure this thread will generate into how we were unlucky/shit/deservedly beaten/Rafa is a twat/Rage is a twat/Drogba is a twat/the ref was a twat/Carra is past it/get behind the team/Aquilani was a waste...and so on.

None of which will make anyone feel any better.

Have to hope we move on from this.
 
Very disappointing but I'm not surprised given the way we've performed so far this season.
Who'd have thunk it eh, after the way we walloped the top teams last time out.
