played well..

albeit not many chances..

easily the better side..

Weakest link ?

Maxi.. should of scored, liability to start off with..
 
Apart from Lucas losing one ball to Drogba that almost cost us, he has won his fair share of balls in the middle.

Sublime last ditch tackle from Carra to deny Nandough.
 
A player that misses a chance like the one Maxi did, is playing without confidence.
He's a bottler, a chicken, wimp etc.

You have to hit the fucking ball. Lean forward and hit it. Don't let the ball hit your foot.
 
We started off nervous but once we settled, we totally made the chavs look ordinary. I don't remember their front three having a touch of the ball, let alone sniff at goal.

Keep up the momentum and we'll score. They are there for the taking.

Maxi - he's having a 'mare. MUST Take him off.

Both teams look vulnerable in possession funny enough

Even though it's nerve wrecking I like the way we pass out of defence nowadays, even carra (sometimes)
 
Good half from us. Shame Maxi is such a bottler.

Ming, Gerrard and defense have been very good and we've hardly had any trouble defending. Maxi was poor and Lucas made a couple of nearly costly mistakes.
 
Get Suarez on and put him on the left. Bosingwa's looked good going forward but far from it when pushed back on his heels.
 
Decent first half from us, Chelsea still looking threatening on the break, but overall I'd say we're the happier team going in

Goals win games and we need one to put the pressure on them and turn the screws!
 
We need to up our concentration levels in the 2nd half. A few times, individuals switched off and conceded possession or played bad passes to their players in dangerous positions in the first 45 minutes.

On the other hand, they've been just as bad in this area. Hopefully we'll be able to make one of their mistakes pay.
 
I was relieved at that half time whistle. We can't clear the ball fron defence at least half the time, & it just comes back. This formation is good at what it does but it leaves a hole in the final third behind the striker/s, so play breaks down. Not as evident on Wed but against these it invites them to close down quickly & we can't clear it.
 
For Maxi's incredible miss, was it a shot or a cross by Gerrard? Random, but having a debate ..
 
Ivanovic has been a real threat in the air so far.
With the aerial threat of him Drogba and Terry, I am worried about out ability to prevent them from scoring over the ninty minutes, especially from set pieces

Yep.

And for anyone who'd argue that we need Kuyt up front for the ball to stick, we don't and it's not sticking.
 
I want to get on the pitch and kick Maxi in the nuts.

* Misplaces a ball setting Torres up early in the game. Good thing Torres skied it.
* Loses possession by playing balls way to early and in to space for Kuyt, who is probably the slowest player on the pitch. Kuyt was visibly frustrated with the idiot's decision making on more than one occassion.
* Misses open goal from fucking two yards out.
* Cole makes an error gifting Maxi the ball on the byline, and Maxi proceeds to waste it by giving away a goal kick.
* Embarrassingly loses the ball after shitting his pants on seeing Drogba and Anelka chase him, and then pretends as if he was seriously injured, when everyone knows nothing happened.

He clearly doesn't fancy this.

Can anyone tell me one good thing he has done in this 45 minutes? Giving him a zero rating would be very very very generous. He has been Chelsea's best player.

Jon, what are you on about? We've been comfortably the better side, and have created the better chances.

What worries me is that Ancelotti will see that and change it - by bringing on Malouda for instance.

A shot I'd say, but one of those ones you just want to put towards the goal and hope something comes off.

Lucas has played really well. I can almost see why the RAWKsters love him when he puts in performances like this. Trouble is, they're too few and far between.
