Chelsea Fucked?

FIFA and UEFA want the internationals to go ahead at a neutral location. However, in an Olympic style move, they won't be playing under the name Russia.

Widely expected that Poland, Czech Republic and Sweden will reply

"FIFA corrupt warship.. go fuck yourself"

The one's with expiring contracts might fuck off now.
And it will be harder to sign players for them when Roman is their owner.

Unfortunately, they have lots of good players out on loan, like Gallagher, Broja, Livramento etc.

Livra is not on loan. it was a permanent move.

Gallagher is a Chelsea fan, unfortunately. He looks the cream of the crop.

He looks decent, but i don't know if he'll fit in the current chelsea system. If Tuchel fucks off though, who knows.

I think he'll be transfer fodder, same as gilmour and broja

Apparently Abramovich is now going to try and broker peace in Ukraine.

Prolly a stunt, but whatevs - I hope he actually gets somewhere with it.

They are going down the Abramovich and Zelensky are Jewish angle.

I mean fair play, he was apparently the only oligarch who replied to the request from Zelensky, and if he actually went in person, even more impressive.

Abromovich and the board of have done a runner while they just let Tuchel defend the non footy related fort. If I was him, just defer to the club spokey or Bruce Buck. He doesn’t even need to try.

Apparently Abramovich has either sold or is in the process of selling all of his London properties. It's a new era!

Whoever advised him that owning Chelsea would make him virtually bullet-proof really earned their dirty roubles.

So are other Russian billionaires behaving the same way. Rash sales will not get market value, and I don't think the Tory government wants to scare off billionaires. These guys will spend hundreds of millions in the UK, buying properties and making investments. Unless of course Putin told Roman, the most of the Oligarchs to pick a side?

I think I saw an article written a a few years back that calculated average spend per PL fan attending a Prem match is about £55 which over 18 PL brings in around £8m. I think in the US the average fan spends well over a $100. A family ticket to an NFL game for 4 is just under $600.
If the current average prices are roughly £50 per adult, £35 over 65, £9 juniors and £25 Young Adults (whatever that is) then add on spends for food, fan experience, museum, programs and merchandise then £55 probably sounds like a minimum for 2022 ... but surely excludes Corporate / hospitality boxes.

Hospitality boxes are well over £200 per head and I've no idea of capacity but there are 8 lounges so 50 per lounge? I can see more in some so I'm being conservative. That's at least another £1.5m but with alcohol and other purchases more than likely double that. On top of the back-of-the-envelope £50m they take from PL games alone.

Chelsea officially for sale apparently.

Roman wants £3bn and wants a quick transaction.

I guess Boris has told him the window is closing.

If he's eager jli don't think he'll get that. Probably end up going for 2.4 or something. 1.5bn of that will be the loans back to roman

And as we know when someone is desperate to sell you can lowball them.

Is he going to write off the loans owed to him by Chelsea ? If he calls them in that club folds.

How could you possibly make any sort of ROI on buying Chelski for £3billion.

They can’t in current climate and when was the last time someone actually brought a club for anything near a billion? United maybe? Investors normally only buy in football when they can increase the value of it or buy a non controlling stake in it.

Should be an attractive option for buyers giving the "ready-made" team to challenge and their academy's success over the years?

[article]I would like to address the speculation in media over the past few days in relation to my ownership of Chelsea FC. As I have stated before, I have always taken decisions with the Club’s best interest at heart. In the current situation, I have therefore taken the decision to sell the Club, as I believe this is in the best interest of the Club, the fans, the employees, as well as the Club’s sponsors and partners.

The sale of the Club will not be fast-tracked but will follow due process. I will not be asking for any loans to be repaid. This has never been about business nor money for me, but about pure passion for the game and Club. Moreover, I have instructed my team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated. The foundation will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine. This includes providing critical funds towards the urgent and immediate needs of victims, as well as supporting the long-term work of recovery.

Please know that this has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, and it pains me to part with the Club in this manner. However, I do believe this is in the best interest of the Club.

I hope that I will be able to visit Stamford Bridge one last time to say goodbye to all of you in person. It has been a privilege of a lifetime to be part of Chelsea FC and I am proud of all our joint achievements. Chelsea Football Club and its supporters will always be in my heart.

Thank you,

Roman[/article]
