Champions League Semis 2nd Leg

Extended match highlights here. Watch it before it gets taken down like Chelsea. First 4 minutes of the clip are pre-kickoff stuff which you'll want to skip.

Looking at Courtois' save from Terry's header before the penalty - it was a much simpler save than the one Mig made at Norwich against van Wolfswinkle, which was much nearer, sharper and required faster reflexes from Mig. Reading the Soccernet report, I'd been given the impression that he'd made a Dudek-level double save special. You'd have kicked Courtois had he let that one go in.

And the referee giving Costa a yellow for delaying the game trying to settle the ball. Wow, didn't think you were allowed to book a player for time wasting.

I'm sure we'd of won Chelsea if this game was before ours, Rodgers would of learnt a lot from this game.

Diego Costa looks like somebody who enjoys a good knife fight now and again, doesn't he? I hope he doesn't go to Chelsea, I think he's a formidable player and would fit Mourinho's tactics perfectly.

This. So much this!

Someone said this to me today and I said Athleti. The response was smacked arse disbelief that I didn't want Chelsea to win the CL. So I very brusquely asked them why I'd want a rival team, who have no class from top to bottom, have shit fans, a chance to boast and gloat about winning a trophy?

Cos they're English.

Like I give a flying fuck about that. Club before country every fucking time.

It's funny how these people never seem to acknowledge Ginsoak's remark about how he was planning to celebrate when we lost the 2007 final.

I find it staggering when I meet anyone who supports another club when they declare they want to see any other club lift a trophy of any kind. I can just about understand someone who supports Luton or Bristol rovers or Lincoln or somewhere hoping an 'English' team succeeds. But anyone lucky enough to have been indoctrinated into supporting a club that happens to be one of the wealthier, more successful big clubs who says they want to see anyone but themselves win anything needs a fucking good clip round the ear.
I nearly crashed on the M5 when Iniesta scored that equaliser at Stamford Bridge the other year, also ran around the room going mental when United lost both those finals to Barca recently. The only thing that comes close to the joyousness of us scroring/winning is on of those cunts failing.

[article=https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/blogs/early-doors/atletico-entire-team-cost-20m-less-fernando-torres-112603689.html] Chelsea's starting line-up cost more than SIX TIMES as much as Atletico's line-up with three Chelsea players – Willian, Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres – costing MORE all by themselves than the ENTIRE Atletico team.

Indeed, £50m flop Fernando Torres cost a whopping £20m more than all 11 Atletico players put together.

The most expensive signing on the Atletico side was Arda Turan who cost €12m (just under £10m) when the club purchased him from Galatasaray in the summer 2011.

Without doubt though the bargain buy of their team was Diego Costa who cost less than €2m

Atletico starting XI
Courtois - loan
Juanfran – €4m
Miranda – Free
Diego Godin - €8m
Filipe Luis – €10.5m
Mario Suarez – Free
Tiago – Free
Koke – Free
Arda Turan - €12m
Adrian – Free
Diego Costa – €1.83m (€1m transfer fee, €833,000 in agents fees)
Total: €36.33m (£29.82m)

Chelsea starting XI
Schwarzer - Free
Cole - £5m plus Williams Gallas (estimated total £18m)
Terry - Free
Cahill - £7m
Ivanovic - £9.7m
Azpilicueta - £7m
Ramires - £18.3m
Luiz - €25m plus Nemanja Matic (Total value €30m or £25.5m)
Willian - £32m
Hazard - £32m
Torres - £50m
Total cost: £186.5m

Torres should call his autobiography "£50m Flop". That would be a nice title. Not that there would be anything in it. 'One day I would like to put something in my autobiography to correct all the lies about me, then the fans will love me again, but, for reasons that I can't tell you about, I cannot put anything in it yet, so here are some pictures'.

Notice the difference in his celebration after Willian's goal vs his goal against Atleti.

That's probably got something to do with the fact that he is never going back to Liverpool while I reckon there is a good chance that he might to Atletico

I remember exactly where I was on the M25 when Agueeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrooooooooooooo scored that goal. I nearly crashed with the glee that I knew I could have with all the plastic Mancs I know. But that glee never compares to us winning.

I love to see our rivals fail. I much prefer to see Liverpool succeed. I know many many Man U fans who I don't think can genuinely say that.

Mourinho lost them that.

The first Atleti goal comes from the diagonal ball to the back post in behind the winger who wouldn't track back. It's pretty basic stuff, pull the full-backs inside, and then get in behind Hazard who has no interest in running back into his own box.

You'd think he'd have learned? Nope. Their 3rd goal came from the exact same move. Dinked ball in behind the shite-defending wing-back. 3-1, lights out.

But Mourinho mostly fucked it with the substitution of Eto'o. Why bring him on then?? It was mental. You've got 35 mins to go and only need 1 goal, it's not time to panic and throw on a front 2 who haven't played togethor all season. It gave Ateltico the extra man in midfield, and they went up the ground and scored 2 goals in 15 minutes - both of them coming from midfield dominance.

That was a managerial masterclass alright. For all the wrong reasons.

Yep, agreed - particularly with dropping a player from midfield for a striker after 55 minutes. Unbelievable. I thought he must be about to follow up with another sub in 2 minutes but he left it like that for Madrid to dominate midfield. Terry and Cahill were trying to play in Torres and Eto'o cause midfield was car crash for them. Insane stuff yet haven't heard any UK pundits commenting on how they went from mostly controlling the match to a non entity after Jose got himself involved.

Here you go mate, Neville effectively copying me.

Still really surprised at last night. 54 mins 1-1 AM playing well and Jose goes 2 up top and pushes fullbacks on. So unlike him.

Maybe Jose does not want to be known as the double decker double parked buses manager after all the criticisms.

Apparently Abromovich wants Cavani over Costa. Mourinho dust up looming.

We should sign Costa if Suarez goes to Madrid. Costa would be perfect for us, still gutted we didn't get him last summer.
