Champ league SEMI final

I think with the slightly larger pitch and home advantage, Barca still will thump these, but their passing in the final third was weak against a decent defense this time around.

Chelsea are determined to prove Allardyce's remarks about the trophies he'd win if he managed a big club.

chelsea were able to stick bodies behind the ball and keep compact due to their tiny pitch, we'll see how they cope on a big pitch.

How did that last effort stay out?

How did Busquets miss the follow up?

One thing that we did see clearly in this match is that Barca are genuinely vulnerable at corners; I can only remember one and Chelsea looked odds on to score. Barca are a team of midgets at the back.

I think Chelsea will score in the Camp Nou.
I hope Barca can score three.
I fear they won't.

It's really hurt them in Europe the past few years! 😉

Credit to Drogba today - he was phenomenal. At his best, diving included. I hope he leaves Chelsea - he's the heart of that team and today he proved it on every part of the pitch.

If Barca lose to Madrid, I think they'll have a better shot at beating Chelsea. I still am struggling to see them do it though.

fear not boys and girls, barca will win the tie. god, i hate those counts from the kings road, waving their plastic flags and madness playing at the end.

barca's passing is usually tighter and crisper, they look tired and can't rest anyone at the weekend because of the game with real.

alves was fucking SHIT tonight, everything had to go through the middle because he was utterly in capable of making a good cross or beating his man. worst player in a barca shirt tonight

In all fairness though, the save from Cech against Puyol's flick was unbelievably good. Driving rain, ball flicked on at pace and bouncing a metre in front of him wide to the corner and he still gets there. Absolutely world class save.

I can see Chelsea scoring at the Nou Camp as well so Barca will need 3.

OMG
Dunphy said something along the lines of there being no way that Chelsea will win the Champions league with a midfield containing Meireles and Obi Mickel.
He mentioned Traore when he similarly dismissed our chances in 2005.

Those cunts are going to win.
I fucking know it!

It amazes me just how much everyone in here hates Chelsea.

?? yeah.... whats not to like!

Barca.... 70% possesion, its amazing how many passes you can string together to get the ball back just where you started with it.

Fair play to Chelsea.

I still hope they get raped in Barca mind you but... fair play...

he also said Chelsea were magnificent in the way they defended. When we did that against barca (think it was under houllier in our last uefa cup win) he fucking ragged us to the last. Cunt.

Terry, Drogba, Lampard, Torres, Meireles, Abromivitch, Mourinho............................

There really is very little to dislike

it's barca or bust because I think chelsea would beat BM or real

Funnily enough I feel the opposite. I can just about see Barca being frustrated again on Tuesday, although its unlikely, but I think slightly more pragmatic opponents in the final would beat Chelsea easily.

To be honest it should be noted that Barca hit the bar and the post as well as had the ball cleared off the line; could easily have been 3-1.

I think they'll win pretty well back home but not sure they'll dod it 3-1.

my hatred of manu stretches back to when I was very young, even before I knew there was a rivalry with liverpool. my hatred of chelsea is relatively new, before they were an irrelavence now I hate them with a passion and the booing of the minutes silence has pushed that hatred to near manu levels.

Key to the tie could be this weekend; Barca - Real and Chavs - Arse.

How important is 4th to the Chavs and how important is the title to Barca. I think both will give them up though Chelsea have a better squad to cover it. If Barcelona get sucked into a spiteful contest with Madrid they could find themselves without a couple of players. They wouldn't want to find themselves without Messi or Iniesta.

What was interesting over the two games this week both yesterdays and todays games was the performances of the best two teams in the world, Real and Barca, both 30 points clear in Spain and yet both struggled against what was perceived by many before the game to be inferior teams. I thought Bayern were magnificient yesterday and Chelsea to a lesser degree tonight. In recent years its been easy to point at Barca especially and say that they are head and shoulders above the rest but Chelsea, the fourth or fifth best team in England, have a reasonable shot of going past them. It could be just home advantage shining through of course or it could be that the fact that La Liga is such a cakewalk that both Real and Barca dont actually ever have to defend that much.... and it shows....

chelsea could lose to arsenal and still get 4th so they can afford to rest players. if barca lose or even draw this game it's over so there is no chance to rest anyone.

to be fair they didn't have to do much defending tonight either. virtually the entire game was played in chelsea's half.
