Which new face in the EPL do you think will make the biggest impact?

A player I rate highly is Andy Carroll of Newcastle, he is frighteningly similar to Duncan Ferguson in almost every aspect of his game and if he has better luck than Ferguson with injuries I reckon he'll monster defences in the EPL for many years.

I don't know too much about Mauro Boselli who signed for Wigan for £6m (from Argentina) but I've read good things, his track record is good and Roberto Martinez has a good eye for a bargain - so a bit of a stab in the dark but I reckon he could be worth watching this season.

I don't think Yaya Toure or Hernandez (tempting fate here) will prove value for money.

I saw Drunken Duncan play live once or twice and he surprised me with the neatness of his play on the deck. I'm not sure Carroll's is that good yet, though I do think he has a chance of making it.

The question hanging over Hernandez IMO is whether he'll be physically strong enough for the rough-and-tumble of English football. If he is, I think he has the ability to do well. Unfortunately.

Agree about the other two you mention, Pesam. If I were to add a nomination of my own to watch out for, like Rafa4 it would be Chamakh. I think he'll suit the Arse and give them a real cutting edge.
 
Probably someone who hasn't been signed yet.

I watched quite a bit of Chamakh last season and he seriously reminded me of Cisse. He wildly misses the target far more often than he hits it. I'm hoping David Silva doesn't hit the ground running.
 
Interesting about Chamakh, but I trust Wenger's instinct as far as signing attacking players goes (his eye for a defensive player is more questionable IMO, despite the fact that he was one himself).

Silva is a very good player and I share your hope, but it would slightly surprise me if he did start well. I think he'll take a while to settle, and I don't actually think he'll necessarily manage it.

In Ferguson's first stint at Everton he played 101 games and scored 35 goals which is very respectable considering he was playing in a very conservative team. Also the amount of goals he made for teammates at least matched his own tally.

Admittedly in his second stint he was far less prolific but the fact that of 120 appearance he only started 50 games suggests that his injury problems were affecting his performances and consequently his goal return.

Most defences hated playing against Ferguson and I think Carroll could make a similar impact.

I'll be interested to see Chamakh as my French/Arsenal supporting neighbour was quite dismissive of him when he was been touted as a LFC target but is now quite optimistic that he can propel the Arse to glory!
 
J.J. All the interest in Chamakh surprised me a little (on here too) - but then he was on a free so for a decent striker I doubt Wenger could go wrong, worse case scenario is he sells him on at a nice profit. I just didn't see him as being 'all that'.

He will be a guy they throw in towards the end of games, will probably reach appr 6 goals all competitions after being hailed by the united fans that he is better than Cantona. At least that happened to Berbatov.

He will score more than 6 goals in all competitions for them this season.
 
like the look of chamakh (after watching 1 game) but someone should shave the boy's head, gelling thin hair doesn't look right, the least he could do is not gel it!!!
 
It will be interesting to see how Dorrans (WBA) gets on, he and Pratley (Swansea) were the best central midfielders in The Championship by some distance last season and I'm quite convinced that both of them are good enough for the EPL.
 
From what i've seen/heard of him so far, Chamakh will prove to be a decent signing, but im not expecting wonders. He'll prove to be something similar to Adebayor i would imagine.

Hoping Silva flops big style. Never liked him because i never thought he was worthy of all the praise.

Can see one of Wigans or Sunderlands signings proving to be a real gem.
 
I'm quite convinced Silva will start well but whether he can hack the cold winter nights later in the season remains to be seen - I have a suspicion he'll be a bit like Robinho in that he'll be awesome when it suits him.
 
There aren't many big imports so far this season are there?

Chamakh is very good in the air, so he'll give Arsenal something they missed last season.

What little I've seen of Hernandez makes me think he's going to be prolific, unfortunately.

Silva will be City's Smicer.
