Does it bother you?
I've never really thought about it, but I've just joined the CCTV Scrutiny Panel, which govern how the Local Authority run CCTV in our District. I just visited the control room this afternoon and it was an unexpectedly fascinating experience.
They have 211 camera's looking over the town, and were showing spots that I knew U had just walked through moments before, thinking I was along and that no one was watching me, but now I know there are three people sat in that room at all times watching over certain spots. I did feel somewhat uncomfortable with that.
They obviously claim that they follow all necessary protocol and don't watch anyone for longer than they should etc, but surely human nature creeps in and personal judgements come into play.
Necessary or not?
