Just had his contracted ripped by Sampdoria, insulted the chairman apparently. We could get him on a free now and add him to the squad as we only have 21 registered players.

Yes he's effin nuts but could do a job for us.

At his best he's an excellent player and if we were flying I'd consider it, but in current circs.such a loose cannon is the last thing we need.

I'd consider it on a short term contract, but he really is fucking mental.

Cassano is a fucking headcase. I mean a right proper nutjob.
If his contract is now expired can he be signed immediately?

I reckon he's just what we need to be honest he's totally unpredictable, the only thing is he will have buried hodgson after a day. This fella handled Capello for a few years

I'd love Cassano.. 28 heading into the peak of his career, is used to playing behind the striker in 4-2-3-1 and alongside Fernando.. He has bags of ability..

It's a tricky one. Cassano is a real quality player, but he is absolutely mental.

I actually think that if we were flying, we could afford to stay well clear of players like this. In our current predicament however, the risk could be worth it.

because look how well players with "good mentality" turned out for us

Exactly, Lucas is 'the perfect footballers', in that respect.. He threw himself into English culture and made all of his family take English lessons in the 6months prior to his move.. Always gives his best and tries to improve.. Its not his fault he's a bit wank and can't.. Yet you can't fault his 'mentality'..

This is exactly the type of risky signing that we need to take. If you don't have shed loads of cash you have to take bigger risks. Sign up the mad bastard I say. I always thought di canio was a great signing for anyone after pushing that gay ref. He went on to do wonders at west ham.

I would sign him in a nano-second on a free.

He has unbelievable talent.

I like Cassano. Good player. But he plays where Gerrard and Cole both want to play.

If we played 4-3-3, he could play more successfully out wide than Cole though, right?

And he'd be a better partner for Torres in a 4-4-2 than either.

[/quote]I agree Ken, but Roy has nailed his shitty 4-5-1 to the mast and it isnt changing till he fucks off, so all we do is play ANOTHER player out of position.

Sign the motherfucker! Its not that we have to much creativity in our squad...or anything to loose.
Hes a brilliant footballer.

Most gifted footballer of his generation.

Thrives on playing with the support of passionate fans - he'd be a fucking cracking signing.

BUT, Milan and Juventus have been chasing him for a while.

I can't see him at Milan tbh ... Too much pressure from the Milan hierarchy on Allegri to play Ronaldino, Pato, Robinho and Ibrahimovic regardless of form.

Cassano to Milan?

I doubt that there's enough room for him and Ibrahimovic.

He is definately worth a gamble. Nutcase or not, he'll add quality, creativity and a goalscoring threat to our ranks.

Plus we can sign him immediately.

not the type of striker roy would have in mind. roy wants someone in the torres mould who could also play as a lone striker, cassano can not. Would be a good purchase though, him and torres upfront would rape defences

Even if we had him for 6 months it's worth the punt

hell, even a month would do

Too much of a nutter.

I agree, but we need something different, a spark. I think it would he well worth the risk

My Juve fan source tells me the current manager and Director of Football are said to be less keen than their predecessors.
