I wouldn't be surprised if this is what Fulham wanted all along, can pretend to FC that they tried to sell him so he won't kick up a fuss until the summer.
 
Also this whole concept of a dead cut off for transfers is so arbitrary, who fucking cares just let deals complete.

And potentially ask for more in the tribunal by blaming us for the deal falling through in January.
 
I did find it funny that Pearce attached his name at the 11th hour to the piece in the Athletic about Carvalho and now he's still trying to stay relevant.

I don't get why that matters though, he's joining a PL club, not an EFL club, so surely it only has to register PL side? I'm guessing it's the fact he's being loaned back which makes it count as a transfer to the EFL side too, despite already playing there, but honestly that's so fucking stupid, he's remaining registered to play for the same club, the whole thing just seems like bureaucracy for the sake of it.

im hoping it’s not dead, but he is bound to get more interest now in my opinion, so maybe dodgy..as we know, money talks
 
Probably the only real loser here is Carvalho. If the deal had gone through, he’d have got a pay bump for the next six months, now he’ll just be on the same money as before. No reason we can’t do a deal tomorrow for him to sign in summer, but Fulham might try to renegotiate the fee as they’re not facing down a deadline anymore. Expect the player will want a higher salary to reflect what he’ll lose between now and July.
 
A few journos are saying we are still in for him and basically we can buy him now for the summer, same terms etc. More time to sort payment structures.

Oh man - That's funny. Oh well - It appears Yoga and an attempt to reach spiritual enlightenment has not helped my buddy and his ITK persona.
Truthfully though he's sound and a good mate who really is in a position to know the shit from the shit. If anyone is arsed I'll report back after I've told him his ITK reputation now lies in tatters on 6CM's - He's a Vale fan so he'll be used to mockery. 😀
