I haven't watched Game of thrones yet. I have the first season downloaded so i'll get on to it soon.

I haven't being following the economic state of Yemen with a while now. "Can I stay in your house when we get to Yemen".
 
I know he's amazing and all that, but I can't beging to let myself fall head over heels with him, cos he's an absolute certainty to leave us for Chelsea/Man City/Barca/Real/Whomfuckinever some day soon enough.

So to prepare for that inevitablity I tell myself how annoying it is that he dives everywhere and does that irritating 'yellow card for he who tackled me' thing.

It'll make it easier when the stories about how "Liverpool has no nice Uruguayan restaurants" come out.

He's definitely the sort of player who has the skills to be a match winner but we need more than one, I really hope that SG can back to his best; those two in combination will make us a force. The other wildcard we have is the return of Craig Bellamy, he can turn a game, if he fires we'll be a real threat.

It was a catastrophically bad peno though Fab. And I knew 100% he would miss, he was just exuding this shit peno vibe. That's not to say he is a shit peno taker, but it is hard not to be influenced by that howler. I'd have Kuyt and Gerrard before him just on the back of that.

Plus, he isn't remotely clinical in front of the onion bag generally. A brilliant player who will always score a share because of his unpredictability, but not the sort for whom time seems to slow when facing the keeper.

It was a bad pen but i'm sorry, that doesn't make him bad at pens. And so far he hasn't had the chance to show his talents much for us in 1 on 1s because normally we pss it around quickly and it ends with a tap in. His first goals for us was a classy 1-on-1. He could have hit it harder but he still rounded the keeper. He would have rounded the keeper is richardson hadn't fouled him. The same game he tried an audacious lob that nearly came off when he was 1 on 1. I really don't get where this idea he's shit at 1 on 1s comes from

It's a team game, but every top team has a top player central to them winning stuff. Often they are the the difference offensively between the two teams. Utd had it with Cantona and then Cristiano Ronaldo, Barca has it with Messi before that Ronaldinho. Chelsea had it with Drogba. Suarez is as effective as any of them, so in answer to the question, yes. He's Ace.

So he's scored 1 out 3, and the one he scored was a lucky bounce of the defender after hitting the post. His work around the box & last third is top class, but a real goal-scorer like Fowler, Owen, Henry etc. would just pick a spot and shoot.
I get the impression that all his best work happens instinctively and he doesn't have the confidence to back himself when he's got time to think about it. There were a couple of occasions against Bolton where he bearing down on goal 20/25 yards out with time and space to shoot, but he passed to someone else and the chance went.
 
Suarez' career so far doesn't begin to support the theory that he lacks confidence though. It's far more likely that he's the quintessential team player (witness also his elevation, as a foreigner and still a relatively young one, to the captaincy of Ajax) and, at times like you describe, will look to help others rather than help himself.

I'm with Doc on this, I think he's bang on. It shouldn't detract from his overall quality, but I don't think he's a clinical striker, certainly not when he has the time to think about it. He's had a few one on one situations and he doesn't seem to have the composure to hit it early and place it, he's missed a couple, though tbf he scored the ones against Wigan (just) and Fulham.

Don't take it as major criticism of him anyway, he's a great player.

We're a better team with Suarez now that we ever were with Torres.

There aren't many non-clinical strikers who have banged in 35 goals in a season though

in 247 appearances he's scored 145 goals with 68 assists

Thats over 1 in 2 games.

He's eager so sometime he tries the spectacular, but to say he's not clinical is bizzare
