Re: BYE BYE ROY (part 2) !!!!!
ok, i've refrained from sticking my oar in on this because it's basically none of my business, but i'm going to defend mr moo - here's the lowdown:
i actually know the bloke in real life - he's been going out with my sister for probably the best part of 10 years now. if my opinion's worth a straw, then i'm happy to vouch for him: he's a lovely chap, and imo very knowledgable about football, having played the game to a pretty high standard and gone to countless games over the years.
spion's correct that he's not from liverpool - we're both from near lancaster FWIW - but i'm sure he's been to as many games at anfield as most people on here. christ, i wish i'd been at the some of the matches he's seen; i know he was at the first 4-3 vs the geordies, and there are loads of others i'm jealous about.
so, he's not an idiot, and he's not some ignorant kid. having said that, i can appreciate why a lot of people have got that impression - clearly! i'm not really sure why he's chosen to be so unconstructive on here, but i think it's probably partly that he's not remotely interested in making online mates, so any criticism is just water off a duck's back and he's therefore happy to post exactly the criticism he wants, and partly a slight misjudgement in the tone of what he was trying to get across. i mean, he's made it clear enough that what he posts is designed to provoke, but somehow he's managed to royally piss people off in the process, so we're now at the point where people just see him as a pantomime villain.
i'm not saying anyone was particularly wrong to be offended by it, or if any of the name-calling has been over the top - i don't care tbh. all i'm saying is that he's basically a good bloke and maybe it's best if people just try to start again with him and give him a second chance. and when you read this, Rich, maybe you should tone things down in future as well!
