Yeah, if I would go into hibernation until the summer if I could.

I haven't been properly excited about a match day for over 2 years.
really? i've never known highs and lows like spring 09, personally. walking out of a pub in paddington after that 4-4 vs arsenal, it honestly felt like my life had ended.

Apparently the majority of players don't want him to go and believe he should be given more time. Maybe this is one the reasons he hasn't been given the bullet.
Carra getting a fucking whopping new contract the second Roy arrived would have helped that.

Re: BYE BYE ROY (part 2) !!!!!

Dear Mr Werner and Mr Henry:

What the jesus are you up to? What are you waiting for? How much disappointment does a liverpool fan have to take? When do you plan on showing some leadership?

Regards
Me

can't blame mr. moo for snapping when he is attacked for starting a thread.

Re: BYE BYE ROY (part 2) !!!!!

Which thread would that be; Part 1, Part 2 or is your post made in eager anticipation of further Parts to come?

Every single one of us wants Hodgson gone, but very few are taking glee from how shit we are.

Yes we can. He states he wants debate but then anyone who disagrees should "fuck off and not read it".

He's behaved immaturely so people have mirrored his actions. Its hardly surprising and when someone decides to have a pop at Sunny and tell him what to do, then you know what, that says it fucking all.

There's plenty of people here who want Roy gone, myself included, but this constant starting of new threads wishing all kinds on him at half time is cretinous.

I don't want this to be an OOT debate but I'd respectfully suggest that Moo is not from Liverpool and is not a regular attendee at the game. That doesn't negate his right to an opinion, but just means that some of the more sane people on here will perhaps lash out at him simply because of the way he puts his point across. There is an art to debating and saying the same thing time and time again, with your fingers stuck in your ears so you can't listen to anyone else is not debate in my book.

Re: BYE BYE ROY (part 2) !!!!!

I dont care if it is down to poor finishing, bad luck, lack of Gerrard, lack of form on key players or if he is let down by anyone from the fans to John Henry or whatever the blame is. If you dont win away games, for any reason, you dont belong here. And the statistics dont lie. Roy Hodgson dont win away games. Period.

Exactly what it says. Many of the Liverpool based, match going posters on here tend to have more balanced viewpoint on things that's all. When I'm listening to people's points of views, I attach more credence to certain people's points of views dependent on certain things.

A poor analogy, but if I'm needing legal advice, I'm more likely to listen to a legal person not a someone with no legal experience.

Moo just fits the stereotype I have in my head of the new modern Liverpool fan that I struggle to engage with. He probably has the reverse stereotype of me.

I've already stated that I would like to Roy gone so I was already in agreement. My issue is the childish way he puts his point across and does not wish to listen to anyone else.

Re: BYE BYE ROY (part 2) !!!!!

I'm with john. Debate is a thing of the past on here. All points are boiled down to insults after someone has decided that they are correct

discussion about our club is dead

Re: BYE BYE ROY (part 2) !!!!!

the analogy to legal advice is not accurate in this case. getting hodgson sacked is more like a politcal election. there is nothing to be gained by debating with the oppositon, the only thing on your mind is to win. so there is some sense in abusing hodgson as much as possible in order to turn the masses against him and force a victory.

Re: BYE BYE ROY (part 2) !!!!!

I'd go one further than dantes*

What we need now is football terrorism, not debate

*first time for everything

Re: BYE BYE ROY (part 2) !!!!!

ok, i've refrained from sticking my oar in on this because it's basically none of my business, but i'm going to defend mr moo - here's the lowdown:

i actually know the bloke in real life - he's been going out with my sister for probably the best part of 10 years now. if my opinion's worth a straw, then i'm happy to vouch for him: he's a lovely chap, and imo very knowledgable about football, having played the game to a pretty high standard and gone to countless games over the years.

spion's correct that he's not from liverpool - we're both from near lancaster FWIW - but i'm sure he's been to as many games at anfield as most people on here. christ, i wish i'd been at the some of the matches he's seen; i know he was at the first 4-3 vs the geordies, and there are loads of others i'm jealous about.

so, he's not an idiot, and he's not some ignorant kid. having said that, i can appreciate why a lot of people have got that impression - clearly! i'm not really sure why he's chosen to be so unconstructive on here, but i think it's probably partly that he's not remotely interested in making online mates, so any criticism is just water off a duck's back and he's therefore happy to post exactly the criticism he wants, and partly a slight misjudgement in the tone of what he was trying to get across. i mean, he's made it clear enough that what he posts is designed to provoke, but somehow he's managed to royally piss people off in the process, so we're now at the point where people just see him as a pantomime villain.

i'm not saying anyone was particularly wrong to be offended by it, or if any of the name-calling has been over the top - i don't care tbh. all i'm saying is that he's basically a good bloke and maybe it's best if people just try to start again with him and give him a second chance. and when you read this, Rich, maybe you should tone things down in future as well!

Impressive though.

I was with my missus for 4 years before the battlaxe issued instructions for a civil marriage post haste.

That was my end. ;D

Anyway, I was no less insulting to Mr Moo, so my apologies.

He can carry on with however many Parts 3 or 10 he likes; it's not as if it'll make us any less shit 🙁

no, i'm not ignoring you, soft lad.

tbf to the happy couple, i doubt they've had time to think about marriage. one or the other have been away at university for, what, 7 of those years, and they're both starting out in tough careers. plus, she's not the least bit sentimental about weddings. none of my family are. we're too clever for that nonsense.

7 years in university, jeez...what did they study?

7 years in total. my sister graduated before he started. at least, i think she did. hang on, i started at liverpool in 2000, she's 2 years behind me and did a 4 year course (french & philosophy, so you have to take a year abroad) so graduated in 2006...now, did he finish in 08 or 09? i think it was 09. so 7 years in total with at least one of them in uni.
