i still don't get why people talk as if it takes 6 months to find the right manager! NESV have had enough time to already have a pretty good idea. it's not rocket science.

henry took about 3 weeks deciding whether to BUY an entire football club.
he took about 2 weeks to appoint comolli as DOF.
what's so fucking special about a manager that these talented people need 10 times that time to find a credible option.

they don't. sack hodgson. give kenny the job for the next month on the understanding that he won't keep it. appoint manager early next year.

just fucking do it.

Making an appointment that quickly is easily doable. Making sure you get it right absolutely isn't. If proof of that were needed, we provided it when we appointed Roy to begin with.

Im in the same boat. I read alot of posts but rarely post myself. However another inept display as pushed me over the edge. It's close to torture thinking you may have turned a corner. Again. To realising you let your optimism get the better of you. Again.
What did Pardew say when he was appointed last week he's wants to "stop the rot".
That's maybe some advice we should concider taking.

Well the wink was a little lighthearted gesture as I know some hate my obvious hate for Roy. But if I'm not mistaken, the thread has turned into a very worthwhile and sensible discussion, which forums are for when I last checked.

Not rushed, Peter, but certainly within the kind of timescale to which you often point. I want us to take our time because, though any new managerial appointment is obv.important, I see this one as more than usually so, coming at the start of a new era in the club's history AND after 20 years without a title. That being the case, I want the board to absolutely dynorod the whole world of football to find out whoever might be interested, whether or not they're currently employed (and the right calibre of manager probably will be), then get the negotiations right so we don't fall foul of any regulations, contract sensitivities etc. At the same time I want it done quietly if at all possible, and that's more easily achieved if the club isn't in an obvious flurry of activity. I'd also like the club to be more stable and at ease with itself before the new man takes over, which is one reason why I specifically want the King in there in the interim.

er well... there are 5 pages of discussion how shit our manager is and how the majority want him gone - quite a healthy discussion I say. But as I said before, the majority of stuff on here gets repeated at some point or another, so why shouldn't this? But as you find it ''boring as fuck'', the simple answer is stay away.
