BYE BYE ROY!!!!!

Tbh playing skrtel right back reeks of something happening. evening else is theory.

Which is completely unlike something Rafa would *ever* do.

I mean, it's not like this is the guy that played Lucas at left wing, or Crouch and Voronin as wing-fowards now, is it?

I can't understand how people find this so difficult to believe, yet are totally willing to believe that Rafa would have accepted that kind of behaviour and threat to his authority, when he's clearly demonstrated time and again he has absolutely no qualms about freezing players out that he has the hump with.

Why people aren't willing to entertain the notion that perhaps the reason he didn't play Carra at right back is because he's not really got the legs for it anymore and isn't that great there is beyond me.

It's Occam's Razor. Anything else is trying to find an excuse

Evening else...

The story at the time was Carra said he didnt want to play there cos his legs werent up to it & Rafa agreed but was unhappy.

That sounds a helluva lot more believable to me.

Would Carra have got that new 2 year contract last week had Benitez still been in charge?

Indeed. However why did carra agree on sunday? When we actually do have another right back available

Presumably he figured he had a better chance of disrupting Lucas' game from there

Roy really needs to shut up.

Everything he says is undermined by the fact that we're 19th in the league. Get your head down and sort it out.
"It is a problem we are letting in goals but with the offensive line-up we have that is going to be a risk," he said.

"Basically we need to score goals to take pressure off the fact we could let them in.

"Good teams score goals and don't let many in as we see Chelsea doing topping the table.

"They manage to score goals without letting them in and that is what have got to be trying to do as well.

"I'm not prepared to suggest we need to offer something for something else (ie: defensive solidity at the expense of goalscoring). We need to get better in both areas."

oh it's that simple is it? that's all we have to do?

roy really hasn't got a clue.

chelsea score more than us because they attack more than us.
chelsea conceed less than us because they put more pressure on the ball than we do and occupy the opposition half more than we do.

i can see that if there was a SCM/RAWK divide drawn on this issue then i'd probably just about be on the RAWK side, yes. but that doesn't automatically make me wrong. i could say the same thing about whether rafa should have been kept on last summer, again that doesn't make me wrong - or you right.

as for richey bringing benitez into the discussion: he had absolutely no logical reason to do so. for a start, my mentioning player power came after his introduction of rafa to the debate, so you're demonstrably wrong about that. FWIW, i just don't think he could resist the temptation to have a dig because of how he feels in general about the man, but i suppose he can answer that for himself.
Whether or not we should have kept Rafa will always be a matter of opinion, true.

If I'd known Hodgson would have done such a poor job of the manager's position, I would have preferred Rafa to stay..I can admit that freely..So any worhippers can take as much glee from that as possible,it's irrelevant to me.

I still think Rafa had to go for reasons which have been enumerated in countless other threads, and which have already been eloquently discussed by singe even in this thread.

As for this Carra at RB disussion, it just sounds like an attempt to deflect criticism from Rafa..which is fine, and which is prety much RAWK AUP.

Whether that's wrong or right is again a matter of opinion.

I shudder to think what a defensive line-up will be like. God, he's cretinous.

Over on TIA there is a rumour about Dalglish being named care taker manager with Phil Thompson as his assistent.

Probably bollocks as every other rumour..

We can but hope.

However, if they cant turn it around, what the fuck do we do???

Who is available immediately?

Kenny
Strachan 😉
Walter Smith (end of season)
MON
Jurgen?

It might be Kenny, but I don't think so.

JOhn Henry doesnt strike me as the kind of guy who's keen on stop gaps until something better comes along.

He's going to look at the best available manager and bring him in.

Disagree, Avvy. That's the kind of approach which brought Roy in to start with. I hope John Henry will, and I think he well might, see the wisdom of appointing an interim manager who will (a) really rally the troops and (b) - crucially - give everyone time to sound out and eventually sign the best man for the job, not merely the "best available" at the moment.

Wow, anyone see the latest comments by Roy;

Hodgson slagging off Liverpool supporters again, with their "ridiculous websites", He really doesn't do himself any favours does he?

not seen it. lol

He says he is a fighter and keen to win this one as well.

So far he has fought hard to get the Fulham goalkeeping coach to try to teach the 3 times Golden Glove Reina how to become a different goalie.

He fought long and hard to secure his handpick in midfield. After all he has been following Poulsen for more than 10 years now, but has just not been in a club with enough money to splash 4,5 mill pounds before.

He has worked hard to get Torres to look at Zamora and learn how Roy wants his strikers to play efficient with no support.

So he is a fighter and works hard to turn things around. And he has really turned things around!!!

he'll go

we have to believe otherwise Father Christmas won't give us 3 points

ha, i'm glad i ploughed through that tomkins article, because this little tidbit about hodgson's precious LMA manager of the year award is priceless: mourniho and benitez never won it, ferguson won it ONCE; one former winner is danny wilson for his sterling work relegating barnsley.

for fuck's sake.

Hodgson is completely stuborn and self-delusional, I knew it would end up like this and said so very early on

he should have been sacked weeks ago

if he sticks around he will take us down, im certain of it. I never thought in a million years i'd be saying that
