We're losing valuable staff whilst hanging on to crap ones.

LIVERPOOL FC’S head of fitness and conditioning Darren Burgess has stepped down after two years at the club.
The Australian has been an integral part of the backroom staff at Melwood since he joined the Reds from his role with the Socceroos after the 2010 World Cup.
Burgess, who worked under managers Roy Hodgson, Kenny Dalglish and Brendan Rodgers, is preparing to return Down Under with his family and is considering offers from a number of Aussie Rules clubs.
“Brendan (Rodgers) wanted to bring in some staff from Swansea, and Brendan has been fantastic, but my role has changed and its not really worth living on the other side of the world for,” he said.

“I’ve had AFL clubs asking me if I was interested for the last couple of years now. The sports science side of things in AFL is world class - you don’t get a better set up.
“It’s tough because I worked for 15 years to try and get into the EPL, it was my dream. But I leave thinking it’s the right thing for my family.”
Burgess was a popular figure at Melwood and admits he relished working with the likes of Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard.
“Luis Suarez’s training intensity is unlike anything I’ve ever worked with in any code. He just cannot lose,” he added.
“Sometimes, as a coach, you have to make up numbers in training, and this happened in the early days when he arrived, because he was serving a suspension from his days in Holland.
“He booted the hell out of me. I looked angrily at him, but he just gesticulated as if to say ‘when you are on the field, you are one of us’”
“As for Stevie, I’ve never seen anyone strike a ball as well in any code of football. When the big clubs play at Anfield, the opposition players all want Stevie’s jersey.”

Liverpool conditioning coach Darren Burgess is returning to his native Australia as Liverpool's backroom shake-up continues.
Burgess, who was brought to Anfield after working with Australia at the 2010 World Cup, is the third senior member of the club's medical team to leave this year.
Peter Brukner, Liverpool's head of sports science, went in April, while physio manager Phil Coles is also moving on as he prepares to join Australia rugby league club Newcastle Knights in November.
Burgess, who is likely to take up a job in Australian Rules football, decided to leave Anfield after new manager Brendan Rodgers brought in several backroom staff from his previous club Swansea.

Liverpool today confirmed Pep Segura and Darren Burgess have left the club.

Segura joined the Reds in May 2009 and was appointed as technical manager at the Academy. The Spaniard also had a temporary spell in charge of the reserve team and, more recently, was technical director at the Kirkby youth complex.

Head of fitness and conditioning, Burgess moved to Melwood from the Australian national team following the 2010 World Cup finals.
Liverpool Football Club would like to thank

"When I went to Swansea, I went in on my own and promoted Colin Pascoe from first team coach. He is a former player there and from the Swansea area and Alan Curtis who was a player at the club for many years and a Welsh legend so it is important you have people who understand the club with you"

As far as I can see,Fudgie has brought his Swansea team with him, and apart from promoting Mike Marsh quite a few who understand the club have left. Maybe it's all unavoidable but it seems a pity we've now lost the people who were supposed to be the best in the business at sports science and in Segura one of the best youth/technical specialists in the world. We look weakened off the pitch as well as on it. Lots of work ahead.

Henry has to carry the can for Segura leaving. Pep didn't get a promotion he was anticipating and no way should Rodgers be in charge of 'the bigger picture' at this stage of his career. He has everything still to prove.

This ole house is gettin' shaky
This ole house is gettin' old
This ole house lets in the rain
This ole house lets in the cold
On my knees I'm gettin' chilly
But I feel no fear nor pain
'Cause I see an angel peekin'
Through the broken windowpane

He can't be "valuable", he's Australian, ergo he's worthless, dated, uncivilised and only befitting of a bizarre image followed by an even more bizarre attempt at humour. In italics.

I do enjoy winding half you spastics up though about your precious fucking city. It astounds me that it works every fucking time too. Like seriously - every, fucking, time.

The biter bit.

One of my friends is a fitness coach high up in the international set up (as well top club level). he has previously said that the fitness coach from Liverpool was very high regarded, and a guy often consulted by his collegues. My friend was weekly in contact with him. I am not sure if it is this guy, but hopefully they have a plan to replace him if so.
