Bullet Dodged + Robben

Whenever I watched Real Madrid last season, Robben played well and provided serious attacking options. Sure, attitude and fitness may be in doubt but he's a very good winger.

Robben is much better than Young at present. And would cost less.

I thought his Dad had already told Spurs to do one? Maybe no one else is interested.

I might shoot myself in the head if we sell Alonso and get Robben in exchange, he would be a terrible signing.

What she said.

Robben is an injury prone, whiny, cheating, inconsistent git.
Absolutely right.

I'd say, when fit, Robben is one of the top 5 wingers in world football.

And he's only 25.

It'd be wise to remember the cunt we grew to hate at Chelsea was barely 20.
Robben is 25??

I'm shocked.

Robben played 35 games this season, thats an improvement regarding his injuries. So, he might have turned a corner there.

He's one of the best wingers in the world, can play anywhere across the front 3 (in our formation), so we would be retarded not to sign him. Cunt or not, he's a world class winger.

Oh, and his agent, whose also his father, said he would never sign for Spurs.

So happy that useless cunt Downing never made it over to us.

That is exactly the kind of signing that ruins my perfectly good summer.

CRAIG SAYS...

'Downing looks like that young bloke there seems to be in every butcher's shop who is constantly running back and forwards picking up intestines and mopping up blood. It's obvious they don't trust him with anything important but he's very willing so they keep him on as a dogsbody'.

He is. He'd be an excellent buy.

If Rafa can tame Robben he'll be brilliant for us. I doubt it if anybody can tame him though.
Whenver I watched him playing for Real Madrid he looked very dangerous and a constant threat, but too many times he was just going head down into dead allies (like a rich man's Quaresma). If he could install some discipline into his game (sometimes) he'd be great.
Oh, and less of those dives please.

He was kind of like that against us. He looked their most threatening player, but too many times was wasteful with the end product. Whether that was just frustration at the ineptness of his teammates I don't know, but he just seemed to be having pop shots and throwing in aimless balls whenever he could.

Against the big teams having someone like Robben can be detrimental. His discipline isn't very good. But then we don't struggle against the big teams, do we? We can play the less talented, more disciplined Riera.
It's against the smaller sides where we lost the title last year and a player like Robben is EXACTLY the sort of flat-track 'small team' bully that we need to break some of these sides down.

Fucking hell.
Someone recently said on here (bunnyman?) that supporting Liverpool is more than just trophies, football, reason and common sense. Its also about love, passion and irrationally emotions.
This is a perfect case to highlight that excellent point. Arjen Robben could shit goals for all care, i dont want the baldy, cheating, moany, perma injured fucking camp gaylord pussyole anywhere, ANYWHERE near our club. Hes a cunt and can go fuck he self.
'oh but hes dead good...' fuck off! Sometimes it has to mean more than that.
Arjen Robben! *holds up hand* PLEASE!

There is some cloudy judgement going on here IMO, and the negative aspects to Robbens character are clouding fair assessment.

A few years back now when in the groove at Chelsea Robben was every bit as dangerous as Ronaldo although not as talented technically. He is lightning fast and tricky and can score goals. As an out and out winger he does not have many peers he is that good... WHEN FIT he is every bit as good as Ribery .... IMO!!!

But he is not fit that often because he is a precious little prima donna prick of a man.

And despite being one of Reals better players last season i find it telling that they are willing to let him go.... i wonder how they will cope with Ronaldos ego!!!

IF we could get him and get the best out of him ( MASSIVE IF) then he would be a hugely important addition to our team, I dont agree that he is a flat track bully at all he is a truly dangerous cunt of a player whoever he is playing.
If we are going to lose Alonso ( and im still hopeful we wont) then i would be delighted to sign a player of Robbens abilty even though i cant stand the little fucker.

If Rafa could get him to tow the line then id prefer him to Silva any day.

He's very inconsistent.
Hes a winger
A much overlooked point.

Either Robben or Silva would be a risk. Robben at his best is a very dangerous player but, if he's not a flat track bully, he certainly did a good imitation of one when the going got tough against us once or twice. Silva has at least as much ability and is more versatile (Robben always looked more dangerous to me out on the left, whereas Silva is equally good down the middle) but unproven in the Prem.

How about offer them Alonso + 10M for Robben and Schneider.

Going forward we would basically have the dutch national team with Torres and Gerrard....

... prefer to keep Alonso mind you.

... prefer if we actually had some fucking money to sign good players aswell..

Of course theres fuzzy logic involved. Its simple.
Good player - yes.
Want him - no.
Not that confusing is it? I want to love the redmen, not acknowledge they can do a job.
I say again. Fuck Arjen Robben.

I agree with you on almost every point in your post but yet I'm so desperate for success and as Robben would be EXACTLY what we need I would approve of signing him.

I kinda think some of his cuntiness would get rooted out here ( seriously how few cunts have we had compared to other top teams in recent history? maybe we can afford to have one more...)

Who did look good against us last season though??? We put Ronaldo back in his box a few times as well remember.... its such a shame we didnt roll out against messi in the final, i would have loved to have seen that.

Actually come to think of it IMO last season we were a fucking wicked team.

Bollox lets just not sell Alonso and try again!!

Robben is a bit of an injury risk but has proven he can cut in the prem, can cause havoc against any team and is a quality winger.

There's question marks against most of those attributes for Silva in the premier league

Hold on a minute oncy. Dont go thinking you are the only one to hate the fucking goyt, he is an absolute arsehole of a man we all know that, i for one hate the little fucker, i hate Ronaldo too and Drogba!

The trouble is they all win matches and I want us to win the fucking league. I hated fucking Bellamy but we still signed the cunt and he didnt fucking win matches!!.

Ultimately if we signed him and he provided us with pace danger and goals and helped us win the league i wouldnt give a fuck.... fucking hell ... its a weird old site sometimes this!! ive read posts asking for mourinhos appointment and rafas sacking and defending the owners while still believing we are gonna sign some cunt with monopoly money! Most all of us agree that we need a winger/attacker, Robben is one of the very very best of those.

Hate him yes
Want him yes.

Our manager doesn't have a very high cnut tolerance level, as Bellamy and Pennant can testify. Allowances might be made to begin with, but they don't go on for ever and the player gets shipped out if he doesn't grow up. I don't think Rafa and Robben would be a match made in Heaven.

Belllamy and Pennant are cunts of the highest order yet they were our cunts when we signed them.

If the price was right, i'd take Robben in a heartbeat. Sorry, but I would.

So if signing Arjen Robben would guarantee us the league you still wouldn't do it?

To be fair, we took Anelka, and most still fucking went on about him for years and how we should still be in for him, and he was a prize cock when he was younger too. Robben is 25, last known for being twatish on English soil when he was what? 23?

Morally I get it, he doesn't fit our ethics of doing things the right way, even though Gerrard dives and we've seen a couple of our own players acting the twat this Summer. But anyway..

Liverpool Football Club is about winning - everything else is secondary. We've had cunts wear the rest shirt before, and they'll be wearing it in the future, too. The way I see it, we've got shot of one cunt (Pennant) and I don't see the problem in replacing with another cunt, one with much, much more ability.

Robben would be an exciting but also very risky signing; on his day he's just as good as Ribery and anyone else in world football.

Can't see it happening, though. But I'd be far from disappointed if it did.

The thing is, I watched a fair bit of La Liga last season, and it kind of struck me that Robben had lost that twatishness he had at Chelsea.
He got on with his game, applauded team mates and acted like a likeable footballer. Maybe he has done some growing up for all that I know. I got the same impression when I wathced Holland - Norway.

He was a cunt when he played for Chelsea though, but thats history.
I would gladly take a chance with his signing. He would give our attack another dimension.
