That Carragher's a cunt. A fucking boyhood blue. No wonder he scored those oggys against Utd. Who on earth signed him up? Surely they should have known he'd have done us over

*Head explodes*
Ridiculous comparison. No one is redder than Carra and he didn't refuse to turn up to a Derby because of 'conflict of interest' did he?. Broughton wasn't a *boyhood* Chelsea fan and converted, he is a CURRENT Chelsea fan. A Chelsea supporter sacked our best manager in 20 years for one bad season. His brief is to sell the club, why has it not been sold? Kenny wants to manage the club, the overwhelming majority of fans want this too, why hasn't he been appointed and why are we still making overtures to Roy Hodgson, who isn't fit to carry The King's jockstrap?
Go and burn an American flag or something. It'll make you feel all radical.
Why would I burn an American flag? Broughton isn't American.

Ian Ayre is getting it in the neck as well now.

Er, think you're over-simplifying selling the club and appointing a new manager.

And there's been loads of debate as to whether Rafa has been our best manager in 20 years. Click on this link www.sixcrazyminutes.com

The Kings jockstrap bit, I think, is correct though.
It really is quite simple actually, perhaps your over complicating it? Rafa has been our most successful manager since Dalglish, its not a matter of opinion. The European cup is the most prestigious trophy in European football.

I stand by my comment that Broughton cannot possibly have our best interests at heart. If we were head to head with Chelsea for any trophy, who do you think he would root for? One thing we do know is that he wouldn't turn up.
How do you know he can't separate his professional job from his sporting allegiance? He's shown no evidence that he's incompetent in what he's been hired to do. Basically, you're letting your love for Rafa blind your judgement.

I thought Broughton was only here to sell the club, and thus the board would sort out the sacking? Does he have a say in it?
Here's the Board, I thought there was just five on it, but there's 6.

http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/corporate/directors

Purslow, Ayres, Nash, Hicks, Gillette and Broughton as chairman.
How many of them are lifelong Reds Ross?

Purslow, Ayers and Nash?
I'm guessing just Purslow ?

Broughton would root for Chelsea. We know that, he's admitted that and not turning up at the match is a sign that he understands the dilemma he's in.

Because everybody knows this, any signs that Broughton engineers a move that'll put Liverpool FC in a bad position will undermine his future roles as Chairman or Director of any company. He wont risk that for his obvious support to Chelsea.

To him, it's a job. He's been bought in to sell the club and the board and him has entrusted Purslow and Kenny to appoint a new manager. Simple theory but quite a bit more complicated in achieving it.

PS. Read other threads for the best LFC manager. I can't be arsed to bring all those debates up.

Rafa's gone I've dealt with that. What I can't deal with is that we have a situation that we have a Chelsea supporting chairman. How do you know that he CAN separate his professional job from his sporting allegiance? Either way I don't care, I want a Liverpool supporter running my club that way it's never an issue.

What's sad is that you and others accept this state of affairs and even try to defend it, that's how far out of touch you've become. Yet you (and others) criticise RAWK, SoS and anyone else who tries to actually do anything and influence things.

How do you know what he'll do? He's a clever man he can disguise lots of things I'd imagine, he got away with sacking the Manager who's to say he wont get away with selling Torres?

The manager appointment is complicated by Kenny wanting to assume the role, which ironically enough also has the effect of making it quite simple: Hire him.

I don't try and defend anything. I try and look at both sides of the argument. I fully accept the owners are a pair of shisters, they've PROVEN it. I disagree with a lot of what SOS do but commend them on their community and charity work. I don't even go on RAWK so don't give an opinion of them. I despair at our situation but you are moving the goalposts. We are talking about Broughton. Put aside your "I don't want this and that as blah blah blah". What has he done to show that he is incompetent?

Did Rafa not attend when we played Real Madrid? Does Madrid play in The Premier League? You don't know anything about Broughton to comment about his state of mind or objectivity. He's not even a football man, so what are his qualifications to be Chairman of our club? The first criteria of that role would be an undying love for the club, I would have thought, or at the very least attend ALL of our fucking matches.

Am I missing something here?

It was my understanding that Broughtons sole responsibility is to oversee the sale of the club. He doesn't need to get involved with anything else and indeed, he probably doesn't have the time to do so.

So, although it does grate that a Chelsea fan is tasked with such a seemingly important job, should it really matter where his footballing allegiances lie? It's not as thought we ever knew which clubs the consultants at Rotschilds and all the other banks and consultancies we've handed millions over to in recent years support, is it?

If we had a Chairman who supported the club, these questions would not be asked. As for his incompetence, why is the club nowhere nearer being sold? HE was bought to SELL the club, that should be his focus.

He had a hand in removing a manager who lost 19 games granted. 19. What if he has no intention of selling Torres? You're making up scenarios that haven't happened yet to beat him down. Witch hunt
If we had a Chairman who supported the club, these questions would not be asked. As for his incompetence, why is the club nowhere nearer being sold? HE was bought to SELL the club, that should be his focus.
How do you know he's not working towards that?

Your precious LFC lifelong boyhood criteria ticking Purslow was brought in to do the same. Not doing too good a job is he. He'd have the club sold and stadium started in months he said. He's a Red y'know.

*Head explodes. Again*

Rafa is a Madrid fan. Did that make a difference to how he did his job ?

If Broughton was as petty, small minded and as unobjective as your average fan he wouldn't have held the positions he did before arriving at Liverpool.
That's quite literally all complete and utter sentamentalist bullshit.

We're a club in a delicate financial situation, we need hard nosed businessmen to get us through it unscathed - as well as a manager who is up to the task.

I'm finding it difficult to remain civil to this conspiratorial bullshit that emanates from people who are supposed to support the club.

I find it mind-boggling that people actually believe Broughton is trying to destroy the club cos he's a Chelsea fan.

He's not a horse , but he is Chairman of the British Horse Racing Authority.
He is a captain of industry, it seems to me the less people are involved in football, the better chairmen they make, they don't get wrapped in all the shite like we do.
Did I mention he isn't a fucking pilot either.

Its easy to target SOS because some of their antics are laughable. However, you have to admire their passion and will to make an impact and still stay the course. The media will mock them simply because they are associated with Liverpool. We never get a fair crack in the press, that's a given.

Our club is currently the laughing stock of the Premiership. It would be nice if we were making the headlines for footballing reasons. Hicks and Gillet are killing our club and its a slow painful death. Our only hope is the banks calling in the loans. That will force their hand. Until then, the pain continues.

No Keni you hit the nail on the head. He was brought in to sell the club which is nowhere nearer being sold, yet he can be involved in the removal of the Manager and when asked about it, talks about the 'Media', in an at best curt and at worst rude reply. That's how much he thinks of Liverpool fans, yet posters in this thread support that and show clear disdain for genuine Liverpool fans who made the query. You couldn't make it up.

I reckon that if the banks called in their loans, all those who called for them to do so would be in for a nasty shock.

All a few posters are saying is that it doesn't matter that Broughton supports Chelsea.

Don't be daft. It doesn't fit in with the agenda

Well said Vlad.

Like it or no, football is a business. A business chairman can run it in a very similar fashion, their disassocation from football or the club itself only makes it more likely they will be able to see inherent faults therein that others have missed.
