Brendan Rodgers Liverpool

Just watched his post match interview with the BBC and he reminded me of a door to door salesman. So used to people telling him to fuck off or shutting the door in his face that he's not affected by dissapointment anymore. He didn't seem in the least bit arsed that we had just been tonked at home by west ham and continued to spout his management speak bullshit right through the interview.Sickening.

Last season we won one game and drew one after conceding the first goal.
Mentally weak? Yes.

Players showing fighting spirit? No.

Players showing character? No.

Do anyone believe that any of the above will change as long as Rodgers is our manager?

We won four of our last 13 PL games.

He was on the radio and the dude asked how hard it would be to pick the team up and he said something like 'not hard at all, we've got 7 points from the 4 games'... like that's on track, par for the course, level or better than expectations.

No matter what you think of him before that comment, that alone is enough to warrant his head rotting on a stick next to the dugout as a warning to the next cunt.

He also pointed out that not many teams have won at home in the premier league this season as if thats some justification for west ham beating us 3 nil.The man is a fucking snake oil salesman.

The first test of a manager is progression and the 2nd is learning from his mistakes.

On that criteria, he is failing. We are an embarrassment at the moment and I can't see any chance of it turning around under him.

We are so disjointed, I really believe we have a decent squad but we are badly set up and unbalanced.

A better manager would do wonders with this set of players but we have no pattern of play, no rhythm, no movement, no support for the player in possession. These are all basics but are completely lost on Rodgers. Instead we are utterly predictable, easy to play against and going backwards, making the same mistakes and it's just a matter of time until the wheels fall off and he is sacked.

I bet after the international break he'll complain he had no time to coach. Then it'll be the same after the Europa games. He's so full of shit it's unreal. He needs to manage a little club that no one ever expects to win anything, so he can get patted on the back for staying in the league with great possession stats.

His time is up, long overdue. Let's get a proper manager in who knows what they're doing. Carlo, Klopp et al

As soon as I here something like 'utopia' from him, I swear I'll hunt him down.

The antagonism towards him is at Hodgson levels right now. Wait until empty seats start appearing at Anfield - FSG will then pull the trigger pretty quickly.

It's time for his pompous cheerleaders to start defending their position rather than just spending every day admonishing everyone else for not being super fans like them. Enough of the 'same old, same old' interjections. Put up or shut up.

He doesn't have cheerleaders...however what this site does have is a number of posters who a) don't want him to fail because of what that translates to for the club and b) feel the time and circumstances still aren't right to make a change. Regarding the latter, that's my big issue...I just don't have the confidence somebody else could come in and do an improved job so why risk starting another cycle of drift and decline?

None of that is giving Rodgers an unconditional free-pass and it can hardly be described as cheerleading by a superfan.

I don't think we are at Hodgson levels of hate yet. I would have allowed the tea lady / insert anyone here manage the team over Hodgson towards the end of his term with us.

Nobody wants him to fail. I know there is a tiny minority that think if he fails short-term and leads to him being replaces it will be better for the club long-term and I understand that point of view while not necessarily agreeing with it. He's had over 3 seasons at this club and god knows how much to spend and we're no better than we were the season before he took over. He hasn't come close to proving he can build a good team without relying on magic from Suarez. If proven managers like Klopp or Ancelotti are realisitic targets, I don't see how the time or circumstances could be wrong.

It's worse than Hodgson because there's a split, and therefore loads of bitterness.

Yep, it totally depends on whether Klopp / Ancelotti would take the job. If either will, then i'd definitely trade up. It's a no brainer for me personally. Can we presume that both Ancelotti and Klopp were sounded out in the summer and neither gave the green light? Rodgers lost his background team but kept his own job. This way he is accountable for his actions and can't apportion blame onto others but was this also a case of John Henry and the boys cleaning the decks to facilitate a swift removal of Rodgers if the season started poorly? I'm a little surprised they afforded him this opportunity and I can only presume it's because neither of the so called bigger managers were willing to come there and then. Well, that or Rodgers' talked a good game and they gave him one last lash at managing us, doing it his way but under the guidance of a new set of coaches.

I agree that the people were united in their loathing of Hodgson.

I don't think Rodgers has any real fans and he definitely doesn't have a collection of cheerleaders. I think nearly everyone would trade him in for a better model should one present itself.

I haven't reached the point of wanting Rodgers out partly because I still have some hope and partly because I've lost hope that it will make any difference.

I do find the reaction to certain opinions held about Rodgers a bit exasperating however.

The key thing here is appreciating that support for club isn't necessarily the same as support for the manager. If you genuinely do believe that Rodgers is the wrong man for the job and the longer he stays, the worse our long term prospects become then surely wanting him gone at all costs is the very opposite of "wanting us to fail"?

We are probably waiting for our rivals to get rid of their managers so we can compete with them for the top coaches.

Exactly. I know people aren't robots and find it very difficult to follow opinions to their logical conclusion, and so for most people wanting us to lose for ANY reason is not only difficult but abhorrent. I understand that and appreciate that.

I may well be significantly more Vulcan than the average person but even I don't actually want us to lose. I'm basically at a point now of being a detached but angry observer.

Trying to work out why there is such a difference of opinion on Rodgers. I still like him and want him to succeed and I think the people who are anti spend so long talking about what they hate about him personally rather than what he does wrong tactically, that it makes their side of the argument less compelling.

I was lucky with how much I saw of Rodgers. I moved to Spain the year he became manager, and as a result, never saw any of his post-match comments or anything like that. I also missed out on Being Liverpool. He doesn't grate on me as much as he does others, but he is a pain in the arse. I'd want him out if I was confident we could replace him with someone better.

Every* losing manager will have character traits that annoy people, simply because they are losing. They lap it up when convinced he's a winner. It's trivial**

*not Kenny
**not Woy

No one has done that, some criticism of him at times has either been wide of the mark, over the top or just plain repetitive. In fact, the latter has been pulled up the most. It's simultaneously ok for you to spend a whole fucking Summer having digs at him at every opportunity, "admonishing" everyone who defended him. For someone so *bright* you don't half make a habit of posting hypocritical nonsense.

Lost a game have we, so you're back with "I told you so's"? Seriously, stop and listen to yourself.

"Put up or shut up", says the poster who doesn't know how to lose an argument without some try-hard made up ITK bullshit he can't substantiate. Try backing up your bold fucking assertions for once in your damn life, or just shut the fuck up. Or one better, do you what you normally do, piss off for a few months in a hissy fit.

I also missed out on Being Liverpool.

I watched half an episode, couldn't stand him, turned it off and didn't watch any more as I didn't want to dislike a Liverpool manager (again...Budgie). Sadly I can't stand him.

EDIT: It was the episode where he was rubbing Flanno's face and telling him he wasn't Cafu.

Spot on. Gkmacca's post was drafted over the summer and he's been frustrated by being unable to use it after the first three games. It was always going to come out. If we'd been unbeaten for 20 games and then lost the 21st he would have trotted it out then. And for him to describe any member of this site as 'pompous'...and I mean any member irrespective of where they stand on any issue...is hysterically hypocritical.
