Blackburn Vs Liverpool 19:45 KO

You have to wonder how we can serve up the dross of the 1st half and then flip a switch and start to play much better in the second. I didn't notice any tactical switches. Not that it was a great 2nd half .. but much better.

I think Blackburn just tired ... which made it a bit easier for us.

We weren't that bad in the 1st half - we just lack any creativity when Coutinho isn't on his game, and today he really wasn't.

We have to be realistic - bar Coutinho & sterling, we have 0 creativity (I mean Studge can but he's leading the line).

Lovren - 7
Johnson - 8
Lucas - 6.5
Allen - 6.5
Henderson - 6
Sterling - 6.5 (such a shite first half and his two shots were a combined 25m over the bar)
Sturridge - 6.5

I put him 3rd - how you can't give it to Mign who was really excellent bar one issue (mix up with Sakho).

That being said, you always are eager to lavish praise on GlenJo ... Solid servant who will probably be in the CL next year!

Very solid performance from Allen & Lucas ... Granted, it's blackburn but they played well.

Also though it was a good bounce back performance from Kolo

I got in just after the first half finished.

So it's me you can all thank for the turnaround in form, obviously.
 
Great atmosphere at the match, my lad was buzzing all day and has gone to bed with a smile on his face. Thought we were solid throughout and turned it on second half. We never looked in any danger. No one was outstanding but no one was rubbish.

I'm not Johnson's greatest fan but thought he had a good game as did the rest of the back four. Sturridge did my head in at times. Coutinho was fantastic, my man of the match but only just ahead of Toure and Lovren.

Unfortunately we were stood by a gang of pissed up kidders. Absolute knobheads who moaned throughout the match, calling every player all the cunts and twats under The Lying Rag, making comments about our stand being full of wools. Those wools have probably been to more games than the lids have had hot dinners. I don't know why these types bother going if they're not going to support the team.

One tit thought it was funny to lash a near full pint down the stand into our own fans then when we scored came flying over the seats into our aisle nearly knocking my lad 3 rows down. A discreet, carefully placed elbow in the nose shut the cunt up.
 
To be fair, Mignolet is now the keeper we wanted.
Still has a few distribution issues but has been one of the best keepers in the league since Xmas. Gwan lad.

There's some bellends at games, no doubt about it. Knobs that think they run the show and look down their nose at everyone. Fuck off.

Mig vs Blackburn



Johnson had a good game - but what the heck was he doing in that final sequence? All the defenders were trying to push up (although Moreno and I think Allen / Lucas were a bit behind and ended up playing a few guys level) but Johnson's position was ridiculous. He made the odd decision to slide half way back to the right post instead, thus playing the opponent closest to goal onside while also blocking Mignolet's line of sight.

Also, Lucas - I'm sure he wasn't really hurt by Mig's knee. We'd just scored before that so I'm guessing that's experience for you - faking it really well to slow the game down and take the sting off the opponents right after they've just conceded. 😉

Good to see Sturridge, Toure and Lovren all parked in or arriving at the six yard box as Coutinho was taking his shot.
