This season baffles me,
We arguably have a very creative and talented front three and generally talented players yet we play like such a mediocre team, produce absolutely nothing special.
Is it the defense? is it Allen and Lucas? are Studge, Coutinho and Sterling not as good as we think?

Sturridge's biggest issue is he's our #1 ... Last year, he had Suarez taking a lot pressure off of him (and visa versa). Teams didn't focus as much on either, and if they did, bang punished. We also had tremendous movement behind them with Coutinho and Sterling buzzing.

This year, studge gets all the attention of the defense and without another goalscoring option, there is less damage done by Coutinho and Sterling ...

Studge is still a really good player but I'm not sold he can be THE striker without another proper striker around him.

We look like we're back to early season form .... struggling to produce anything meaningful in the final third.

Ming & CBs have had nothing to do and Rhodes only got a header because Sakho couldn't even hobble back.

Johnson & Moreno have looked decent enough when they've gone forward but yet again it's in the midfield where we lack power & creativity : Henderson has been shite, simply doing SFA with the ball, Allen has been energetic but unproductive and that can be said of Lucas too.

Up front Sterling has been shite again, Coutinho looks frustrated and Sturridge could and maybe should have scored from Coutinho's shot but that aside he still looks the 'most likely' despite an undistinguished half.

Sturridge is really pissing me off at the moment. For someone who wants to be the main man he's showing a lot of reticence to make runs into the box. He keeps dropping deep and/or wide then losing the ball.
