Big D vs Twitter

It's been clear for 200 pages in this thread that you've no idea.

But thanks for confirming it.

All those people freezing themselves to death without power, their carbon footprints are things of envy. Truly they are. Lol you love to see it. Fucking morons. Freeze more. Save the planet. One turbine at a time. Aaaaaaaaahagahssfgagaaaaaaa

The picture is from a test of a helicopter de-icing system in 2004 in Sweden. Modern turbines in sub zero climates now have built-in de-icing systems.

Something like 90% of Texas's electricity supply comes from fossil fuels. Sure, let's blame the 10% from renewables...

You misunderstand, this never happened under Big D's watch, it is happening under Biden's. Therefore there exist all sorts of ways to blame Biden, through fake memes that ring true, through a misunderstanding of the energy sector, through extrapolation of his policies using the current circumstances as a guideline for the future, through freezing your bollocks off and lashing out, and so forth. All paths lead to Biden being to blame, and you love to see it.

When you crack down on the energy sector with dumb greta inspired rhetoric and tyrannical executive orders, and the very next week there are widespread black outs, well sometimes God doesn't work in all that mysterious a way. More importantly, if you'd bought the oil price when I recommended it, you'd be laughing about it too.

Is this part of sophisticated Dantes investment strategy? Buy oil ? Buy the banks? Short BTC?

Yes, that's as good of an unsophisticated strategy as any. The sophisticated strategy is to buy every asset in the world that has >50% chance of rising and sell every asset in the world that has >50% chance of falling, and to do so on a rolling minute to minute basis as the percentage changes. Which is of course impossible, because nobody could calculate those probabilities, hahaha, yeah, you'd have to be some kind of genius to even try it...

I like the way Numerai not only does that but crowdsources the quants. What a model.

Never heard of them before, interesting. But make no mistake, they're just morons counting how many times certain things happened in the past, just like every other quant who would kill to know what I know about the future.

I think they're doing ok. By the way the dude is a kid. 29 now but started it 6 years ago. Worth bazillions now.

That is mildly annoying, but at least it's bazillions that he will have hopefully ensured do not end up in the hands of the inland revenue, for which he deserves all the success in the world.

It's the same idea as Collective2 and Quantopian, they're probably more well known yet they don't have billions, strange.

Apparently Texas has its own power grid, it's cut off from the rest of the US so it avoids federal regulation. They didn't want to cough up the cash to bring the grid inline with the regulations... Biden's fault.

That's probably another reason why it failed, they can't draw power from other states if or when it's needed.

The psychotic delusional hatred of Big D goes on. He "sold" that years ago at least as far as the inland revenue are concerned. I recall going there as a dumb kid in the 90's, and that place with all the flashy lights and glitz should have appealed to me, yet it just came across as a cheap pathetic shit show which bored me. Was doomed to failure, absolutely nothing Big D could do about the poor man's actually more expensive vegas. At least he employed thousands of people for a good few years. But when I went to vegas as a cynical grumpy old man devoid of all joy and happiness, it turned out to be the total opposite, one of the best places in the world, if I only I had spent more time playing and mastering poker I would have immediately moved there for good.

I was surprised that our grid is up to 47% renewable. That's grown quick over the last few years

One of the benefits of having consistently shit weather absolutely guaranteed all year round, investors feel much safer banking upon that than on buying government bonds.

The fact we all now agree that fake news exists is massive progress compared to this time four years ago, when it was just me on my jones trying to tell you all that it's fake.

I think what you have wrongly assumed is that we believe the fake news was bilateral. It wasn't, it was only from the Republicans and their clown in chief.

Then there is still much work to do. Or more likely, we can agree that there has been sufficient progress and leave it at that, with you in your perpetual half ignorant state.

This is what happens after decades of basically zero regulation on the power generation and distribution companies in the state.

The blame is being squarely placed in the hands of our governor and state legislature, who of course are blaming the non-profit company that overseas the entire Texas power grid.

Abbot made numerous press conferences throughout the week, but only made himself look more and more stupid, as this should have been sorted out years ago. Conservatives like him really struggle when they can just come out and blame illegal immigrants for something.

Heard yesterday they the state was very close to a catastrophic failure, meaning the entire grid almost went down, and supposedly if that had happened, it would have needed to be re-built from scratch, and would have taken months. That is absolutely insane.

And while I we were all dealing with no power, no water and cold weather that Texans are just not used to, our fearless Senator Ted Cruz decided to take a holiday with his family to Cancun. What a cunt.

And at the end of the day, I think Biden and the federal government are going to come out ahead in the eyes of most Texans when all is said and done, a national state of emergency was declared yesterday, which paves the way for folks to get assistance from FEMA for things that insurance will not cover. That is huge, there has been a shitload of burst pipes, and flooded houses.

Aaaahahahaaaaha that's actually worse than the dominic cummings eye test trip. Incredible. For your blood pressure, I would advise you to give his sorry not sorry apology excuse a miss.

Yep. Senator Cruz said, "Fuck this - I can't help" and jetted off to Cancun. When he got caught he blamed his daughters. Meanwhile, AOC (from new york) raised over $2 million to help freezing Texans. You love to see it.

Beautiful way of showing Cruz up, and doing good.
