I know there is a rafa v gh thread already but can the people who voted gh please put in bullet points why gh was a better manager than rafa. just curious, thanks in advance 🙂

Were deluded, halwit, dim, mental bellends.
Let's just leave it at that.

lol.. that wasn't directed at you yer div. For what it's worth, I don't think there's much between them, at least league wise, they almost mirror each other, but Rafa won the CL.
[/quote]I just don't understand how readily people can detach emotion from the mix when assessing who the best manager is.
Houllier made me love football, and Liverpool.
Rafa made me hate anything to do with the game.
The best manager (given the lack of criterea by the original poster) should include how you as a fan view and feel about the club. I cannot remove how I feel and just commit to the stoic mantra 'yeah but he won the champions league' and let that be enough. It isn't.

I don't think there's much debating that Houllier was the more likeable man, though he had similar man-management issues at times (Babbel for instance).
Rafa didn't make me hate football though, the commercialism and money have made me question things from time to time, I don't hate him but I hated his stubborness and his regimental style.
Regards who was more successful, I think it's difficult to not say Rafa, but like I said, there's probably little in it statistically overall.
Both contributed to putting us back on the map. There was something truly genuine and warm about Ged, while Rafa's occasional tactical masterstrokes in Europe will always be remembered.
