Atletico Mineiro were crowned Copa Libertadores champions for the first time after beating Paraguayan opponents Olimpia on penalties. After a 2-0 defeat in the first leg in Asuncion, the Brazilian side, coached by Cuca, managed to wipe out their deficit inside 90 minutes thanks to goals from Jo and Leonardo Silva. Following a goalless extra-time period they then edged the shoot-out 4-3.

"Two minutes later the goal that levelled the tie arrived as Bernard crossed from the right and Leonardo Silva, again a menace in the air, rose highest of all players and nodded in."

Spurs do go for our targets, but tend to buy them

Dempsey a prime example, followed by Holtby

Dempsey, Holtby and Sigurdsson. So far its been a good thing Spurs have bought them and not us though.

Actually Tbf arsenal have bought a lot of youth we were linked to, I just forget because they bought them when they were 10

Arsenal go for the youth players we want, spurs go for the grown ups

We have a boss scouting system. Spurs and Arsenal buy all the players we always identify.

The 20-year-old's club Atletico Mineiro battled back from two goals down to triumph over Paraguayan team Club Olimpia in a penalty shoot-out, winning a dramatic 2013 Copa Libertadores Final.

The exciting starlet beamed with pride as he revealed he'd completed his goal of leaving the side in a blaze of glory.

"I do not know what will happen to me from tomorrow," he said.

"If I stay or not, I have made it clear that I wanted to leave here with a big title, so I have fulfilled my goal, which I promised to fulfill.

"It is up to God to decide if I stay or not, it's up to God and also the presidency, to Alexandre Kalil, to the board."

Bernard also confirmed the news that several key European clubs were showing big interest in him, including Porto and some unamed Enlighs sides.

He said: "I'll keep working until the board decides something about the transfer," he told Sportv. "There are offers from English football, Shakhtar and Porto."

Bernard's agent was less coy about the players future, writing on Twitter: "Congratulations, Bernard. Double-winner! Confederations Cup, Libertadores... the perfect farewell."

French reports claimed the Gunners were on the brink of recruiting the 20-year-old and were hoping to have finalised the £21m deal on Friday.

D.Duarte (Bernard dad):"Arsenal? We know there interest, but there is nothing official. At Porto, it's better for his career. Hulk has convinced Bernard that Porto move would be better for him at this stage of his career. It will be a dream to see my son play at do Dragão." [O Jogo]

Looks like Soldado is off to Spurs, so we better step up if we want to get some of our targets.

@Zizouology: BREAKING: Adriano Spadoto [Bernard's agent]: "I think Bernard is signing for Porto, let's wait until Monday or Tuesday for concrete details"

And him off the list. Running out of targets at this rate

I'm sure I read somewhere that there is 3rd party ownership involved with this lad and Porto already have part of that.

3rd party is right mate, but its Portos sponsor who own 50% of Bernards contract...
Which is why it was likely he was going there.

3rd party ownership should be banned in every league

Meh. Based on that footage I ain't too impressed. His ball striking ability isn't great.

We need a statement of intent and this guy ain't it
