Didn't want him from the start but he's won us a good few points with his goals. I'm trying to support him but he's really annoying me.

Realistically he's a sub option for us going forwards under Klopp.

I we'll cut our losses in the summer.

He is just too static as far as Liverpool forward is concerned, I see no major improvment with him over Balotelli..

He is the type of player that thrives on service, yet we don't have the type of players to give that to him.. And when we do, he seems utter clueless on how to bring other players into play.

I just don't know if it'll be worth persisting with him unless we want to see more of him looking hesitant at coming short for the ball and then never really reaching it when it does get played in, or fervently hoping the ball will be played long and high and then surprised when it actually is and he's not really in a position to challenge for it.

Buying him didn't cause it, but it really highlighted the fact that we haven't had a coherent attacking style since Suarez left..

He's way better than Ballotelli or Carroll but it doesn't say much.
Only a few wanted him in the summer and nobody wanted to pay what we did for him.
He's still probably the least of our problems.
Firmino has been far worse for example.

He is a very good striker when a team plays to his strength.
However we have played differently to how he was used at Villa and he doesn't seem to have the game intelligence to adapt.
He always seemed to be a confidence player, as a lot of strikers are, and the longer he has struggled with us, the worse he has become.
He never looked like a good fit for Liverpool and sadly that seems to be how his transfer has panned out.

He's a great plan b, but whether or not he's worth 32 mill is another matter. Judge him on his goals return at the end of the season. He's new to the team and now new to another way of playing and another manager

I would say he's a big part of our problems when he's not having his purple patch. He's too easily nullified when out of form.

He's a problem but we have so many it's unbearable.
He scores a few goals which nobody else does so he's not our biggest problem.
The service was pretty shocking today but he didn't help himself with his lack of movement.

The likes of Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana needs a striker who is mobile and has movement. Benteke reduces how effective those three players are and makes our attack less than the sum of its parts.

That x-mas drinkies West Brom match we saw had me tearing my hair out. He was so fucking lazy that day. Today he was bloody awful as well. There's no point in moaning about it - He's here to stay. When the hell is Sturridge back!?

Obviously it does affect them but I'm sick of hearing these excuses.
Lallana and Coutinho are producing nothing at the moment including effort and Firmino just looks like a sunshine footballer who only looks good when winning.

I didn't really see much of Benteke at Villa but the most disappointing thing about him is how much support and service he needs. I thought he was more capable of creating goals for himself.

Which is no suprise, when Studge plays we are a far better side.

The signing of Balotelli taught us that..

We needed to bring in a player of similar elk to that of Studge, we brought in a Benteke..

Its like we never learn from our mistakes..

He's just suffering from a crisis of confidence, and would've been starting from the bench if Sturridge was fit until he got it together. The chances he's been snatching at and the lack of awareness are completely alien to his time at Villa where he was actually specifically a very composed finisher and adept at getting his teammates into play.

He is way better than Carroll, Heskey etc and is worth sticking with - its just whether that's from the bench initially.

One of the above needs to make more runs to give us options.

Problem is all 3 of those players want to be the player making the pass and not the run

We could have a thread about pretty much all our big money signings so I'm mystified why this player is singled out. He didn't set the transfer. He also didn't know he was going to a team that can't provide for him. Given the paucity of opportunities he has a pretty good strike rate. I think, if I were Klopp, I'd look to a more creative midfield for a solution.

This. Defenders can key on Benteke and step up knowing that no one is pushing on behind.

And all three of them offer precisely zero goal threat most of the time. Except for those 20 yards crackers Coutinho fires in a couple times per half season.
