It's very strange. On here it seems to be split 50/50 but over on RedCafe I think it's about 75/25 really rate him - and that's before the tweet.

I don't think it's too strange - partly, because folks here are scarred by the last big man, and also because the Mancs still play the crossing game which suits Benteke's aerial prowess (yes, I know he's more than that but there's no denying that is a key element of his game). Look at Fellaini turning into their no. 2 striking option last season. 🙂 So I suppose it's to be expected that they'd rate him more over there.

What the fuck is this phrase "Statement Of Intent" that so many seem to be throwing around now, as if it's part of the vernacular..?

Would Angel DiMaria go down as a "Statement Of Intent" last summer? How about Falcao? Was our pursuit of Alexis Sanchez last summer a "Statement Of Intent", or does that not count as he chose to not join us? Have there always been "Statements Of Intent" or is a recent thing? I would think that, if they've been around for a while, the lad who missed the penalty that won us the European Cup in '05 was a pretty big "Statement Of Intent", no?

Jesus, the nonsense that gets thrown about when people refuse to accept the reality of our situation cracks me up.
 
We might be able to pay it, but I'm not sure if we can get Lacazette anyway.
Should deffo try though.
