Well it was meant as a double entendre , but do people know why he gave JAR a rap around the shins with a nine iron?

Because he wouldn't sing karaoke.

Exactly so , on a team building break to the Algarve. Whilst all the others joined in , Riise would not play and sulked off to his room, which rather defeated the object of them being there.

No doubt hitting someone with a golf club is a justifiable reaction.
there is hitting someone with a golf club and rapping their ankles a bit with it. The point is Bellamy cared enough to get angry.

Anyone that cares that much about karaoke needs mental help.

Speed claims Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish will get the best out of much-travelled striker Bellamy, 32, who returns to Anfield for the second time, after a year-long stint in 2006, following his free transfer from Manchester City.

Speed said: “I’m happy for him, Craig’s a very important player for us and we need him doing his stuff on the field.

Knowing Kenny as I do – he’s a great manager – he’ll get the best out of Craig and that can only be good for us.

“There is competition for places at Liverpool, but Craig is a great player and he will thrive on that.

“He did well on loan at Cardiff but the Premier League is where Craig should be. It’s disappointing for me because I’m an Everton fan, but he has got a good three years left at the highest level and, with Kenny to bring the best out of him, he’ll do well there.

“You always expect big things of Craig because he’s that type of player. The move will focus his mind and he’ll want to do well and show what he’s about.”

Speed: Reds return fantastic for Bellamy

He's 32.

Has he not lost that pace he had 4-5 years ago?
Strangely enough no.

I remember reading when he played for Cardiff an interview in which he said he had his own independent trainer who advised him on certain aspects of training & how often to play games solely to keep his hamstrings & calves (sp?) in good condition so his burst of pace wasn't lost. As I recall it was an issue at Cardiff as he refused to play a few games very close together as it would have gone against that trainers advice.

His Dutch trainer, Raymond Verheijen, is the bloke who infuriated Kenny last week by criticising him for playing Suarez. He's more likely to cause problems this time than Bellamy is.

I don't suppose he'll be starting many of our games, so hopefully letting him run tagged defenders for the final 30 mins of a match will ensure a bit of longevity re his fitness.

I have to say I did watch a YouTube video for his 10-11 season and he looked nippy .

We've got such a versatile set of forwards in bellers and suarez.

Infect I don't think I'd swap bellers, carroll,Suarez and Kuyt for any other set of forwards in the prem. Bar cities ridiculous pool obviously.

Drogba,Torres,Anelka - 3 years ago most definitely but not today.

Utd have a formidable bunch of forwards too but I don't think id swap Rooney for Suarez...

Isn't he the Welsh assistant manager ? He received quite the backlash for those comments criticizing Kenny..

God forbid Suarez playing 60 minutes against exeter 3 days before his next competitive match, which funnily enough he performed at his usual standard.

If we have injuries I think you're right, but hopefully we'll only need to see Bellamy occasionally or at the end of games.

That said I suppose he can run defenders into the ground for 60 minutes & then unleash Suarez on their tired legs. Haha, fuck, imagine that as a defender. Hell.

Anyway, if he's not needed a lot his trainer shouldn't be an issue.

Nice to have you back macca.

yep, bellamy has lost none of his pace and I think being played from the bench and being an intermittent starter will help him steer clear of injuries*

hasn't helped aurelio, but I digress 😉

Being a sub is not necessarily good for hamstrings, as subs tend to go through a less thorough warm-up before starting to play. Hopefully Bellamy will know enough about his own body to avoid making that mistake.

Generous words from Worncock there. He's still a cnut, but fair play to the cnut.

'They call me WOR-NOCK! Kneel before me!' he's gone quite mad

Just finished watching the Wales games

Bellers is in fine form and god he can shift!

Did he play the full 90?

Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz are on heavily-subsidised loan deals at Tottenham and Real Betis respectively while Wayne Bridge and Nedum Onuoha are stuck at the club on obscene sums.

And that is on TOP of the ‘hits’ they took to get rid of the likes of Craig Bellamy and Shay Given as the ‘leper colony’ was reduced with only mixed success by City’s negotiators.

Bellamy, who cost around £12million, went back to Liverpool last week but even that free-transfer move hit City.

The Welshman was due a staggering £3.8m in wages and received a hefty six-figure settlement to clear his move.

Can someone explain Financial Fair Play to me? Surely, Man City are breaching it ?
