As I mentioned in a betting forum post......I put £1,000 into a betfair account many years ago and have since taken out considerably more; I look at the money in my betting account as "ill-gotten gains" and "other people's money" so I don't feel guilty or too bad if a bet loses.
Aren't Hill's offering 10/1 against Ronaldo scoring against Roma ? Now that is a great bet !

That is price is so "wrong" that I can only assume that it's only available to new customers i.e. all the bookies these days offer silly odds (with a limit to how much you can bet) on bets to get you to sign up. He's 4/1 to score the first goal on Betfair and Evens to score at anytime.

Yeah that's what it is. Newcomers - surely your wife can pose as a newcomer 😉

Johan Cruijff did a bit more than play some great matches against some genuinely good teams like.

The whole point of watching Barcelona is enjoying the spectacle of them destroying / taking the piss out of / whatever the opposition. If they don't win at least 3-0, I feel shortchanged.

It's not about the competitiveness of La Liga (which does need addressing asap and the money from the TV deal being spread more equally) because we've seen Barca do the same as they've done to the likes of Sporting Gijon and Celta to Utd, Real Madrid, PSG and others.

They're one of the best club sides in history centered around one of the best players in the game... what's not to enjoy.

If they obviously wouldn't do it at 0-0 but would at 3-1 or whatever it was, it was disrespectful.
Taken differently, was bringing in Benteke against villa when the game was already won then disrespectful to Villa? Different decisions will be made when the game is no longer a contest, and Messi's assist could've been one of those.. tbf i don't get what the fuss is (except Madrid & C.Ronaldo fans) 😀

The daft twat will probably only now realise that it's technically down in the record books as a penalty miss, and the pudding-bowled, weirdly grinning, fecking weeble nut will suddenly regret it. Still, it will probably appeal as 'cool' to the same raving forelock-tugging idiots who think Mourino's a bit of a card for walking off down the tunnel when there's still a few minutes to play, and when he tosses his 'second-rate' medals into the crowd. 'Oooh, what an individual!'

Nope. The whole point is you've got way too much time and the wrong values.

You can be quite unpleasantly irritable at times.

It's got nothing to do with values. It's possible to enjoy different types of games and styles.

Yep, and it's also possible to mistake style for morality. And resent it being pointed out.

Fucking hell Macca. Morality? It's a bunch a lads kicking a ball about a pitch. He's hardly been racis..... Oooooh

I hope that whatever happens - when and if we are in the CL again - we do so only when we are competitive enough. That last stint in the CL under Rodgers was a complete humiliation for us. We actually have a European pedigree to defend when we are in the CL, I would rather we are prepared for the CL to do well rather than qualify for it to be fucked over 4-0 / 5-0 by the likes of Barca. It still pisses me off that Real Madrid beat us at Anfield last time in the CL - I blame it completely on Rodgers - he was fucking useless in cup competitions and other tournaments.

Loads. They're a bunch of fucking cunts. And I'd like to shove that mewling narcissistic 'Mes Que Un Club' bollocks right up their preening arsehole.

I fucking hate Barcelona. And this isn't any defence of that penalty. I couldn't really give a fuck, and much less want to jump on gkmacca's morality bandwagon, because football is as much about the spectacle as it is about the result, sadly. But it's fair enough if he doesn't appreciate their cheeky fucking brilliance, because if they pulled that shit at Anfield I'd be angry too.

Unless we did it, but has been pointed out, Liverpool probably wouldn't because we're just better than that usually.

I don't know what Malaga does as I don't watch the La Liga, but perhaps they hold the solution to consistently slowing down Barcelona. Some teams do get the odd result in a game or two against the Catalans in a single season, but as far as I know, no team has had the consistency of Malaga over these 3 seasons in choking Barcelona somewhat.

Malaga vs Barcelona (8 goals conceded in 6; 5 in 5 if you take out the 3-0 defeat)
13/14: L 1-0, L 3-0
14/15: D 0-0, W 1-0
15/16: L 2-1, L 1-0

Sure they've compiled a 1-1-4 record so that's not great, but conceding just 5 goals in 5 games to a club that scores that number in 1 to 2 games over other clubs is certainly some achievement. They also seem to know how to contain Real Madrid somewhat:

Malaga vs Real Madrid (8 goals conceded in 5; 5 in 4 if you take out the 3-1 defeat)
13/14: L 1-0, L 2-0
14/15: L 2-1, L 3-1
15/16: D 0-0

They've got the 4th best defensive record this season so that could explain two of the clean sheets this season. However, they were just 9th and 7th best in goals allowed in 14/15 and 13/14 respectively and still allowed only 5 goals (14/15) and 7 goals in 4 games (13/14) against the same opponents. They must be doing something different to the other clubs that are just whoring goals away to the big two?

It's taking the piss. Like when the keeper was off his line in 3-and-in and you'd roll the ball on the line, get on your hands and knees and score with your head.

Why didn't Suarez just take the pen in the first place?

Neymar said that the pass was actually meant for him, but Suarez beat him to it. 😉

Neymar is such a bitter self-centered cunt.
The internet is in meltdown about disrespecting the opponent, but he spends his air-time bitching about Suarez...

I'm not mistaking anything for anything. I know exactly what I'm watching. I'd say you with a fixed set of ideals and morals about a fairly corrupt game played, managed and governed by supposedly unlike able millionaires have the problem.

If you can't separate all that stuff from the football being played, fine. I feel the same about a lot of other clubs. I respect that there is a lot of material you can use to fuel a dislike of Barca - the more than just a club charade, refusing to better their league by sharing out TV cash, player tax evasion, tapping up, Busquets etc.

I'm not oblivious to it but the football, to me, is that worthwhile and given that they're in a different league (in which Real are far worse), it's all good.

As for the pen and it being disrespectful and all that shit, where do you draw the line? Is Henderson doing a rabona when a few goals to the good being disrespectful? Teams usually breaking out the tricks and flicks when they are well ahead? Should you keep on scoring as it adds to the humiliation of an opponent or is it ok as long as you do it head bowed and solemnly? Playing a B team? Subbing your better players off?

The furore around this pen is absurd and very very selective and Id argue the same if anyone did it.

If Liverpool did it, it would be cheeky, funny & brilliant. If anyone else did it, its disrespectful and cnuty (c)JJ.
End of story
