Are they unstoppable ?

Neymar , Suarez and messi just take the piss.

Messi squares a penalty to Suarez who blasts it In for another hattrick and they end up scoring 6. It was Henry-pires esque, accept it actually worked

Has their been a better attacking force in football than these three ?

Weren't Barca meant to have the best front 3 ever a few years ago? Messi, Villa and... Can't remember.

Seems par for the course for messi

David Villa always seemed quite subdued.

I suppose difference with Neymar and Suarez is that they're playing with Messi rather than for him if you know what I mean.

I want to write some glowing post about how Suarez is the one that's made them click as he possesses the dogged attitude and work rate that the others don't possess as well as unbelievable skill, but then I realised I never watch Barcelona play, and I'm just a massive Suarez fanboy.

Saw the game today. At this moment in time the 3 south american princes are top. But only a few years ago they had goofy , eto and messi. Goofy was top then. The difference now is that the 3 along with Ronaldo dont let themselves go and get wasted.

Disrespectful penalty imo, you just dont do that in a competitive match.
And Suarez went in the box before Messi's kick, should have been disallowed

Messi-Neymar-Suarez is the best front 3 of all time I think ... It's not really fair.

When Messi was out, Neymar and Suarez were incredible - they scored all the goals Barca scored and they won almost every game.

I've backed them (very) heavily to win the Champions League @ 3/1 because IMO if Neymar, Messi and Suarez stay fit then it's a foregone conclusion.

You really think?

It seems far more likely that it's 20 something year olds having a bit of fun.

So they need to resort to that to 'have fun'? They're thrashing crap teams every other week - that's fun enough for most, without taking the piss out of opponents with stupid tricks. I don't get why people keep watching them, it's like taking the Harlem Globetrotters seriously. Top players, top managers, these days, seem drawn to the least challenging contexts. Winning matches and scoring loads of goals in a league that's generally poor? Managing the clubs that are rich enough to lord it over the rest? It's not something that appeals to me, I'd rather read a book.

They set Suarez up for another hattrick, I don't mind

Its only very arsenal because arsenal did it recently.

Cruyff did it before then, as part of an incredible side.

And if you can't enjoy this, then the sport is dead to you.

A step over is a way to beat a player that's needlessly flashy, are they disrespectful? Nutmeg? Rabona?

Dont see anyone clamouring over Henderson doing a Rabona yesterday. Was that disrespectful? If it had led to a goal people would have been jizzing for weeks.

The game is fundamentally to score goals. I have zero complaints if people do that in cheeky/outrageous circumstances

It always deserves to fail. And I also don't revere all that Cruyff did - he was/is one of the cockiest little twats in the world, albeit one who also played some great matches against genuinely good teams.

It didn't work. And it wasn't needed. You want to celebrate arseholes? Carry on. Don't think I'm obliged to agree. I hate the whole vain, preening, me me me culture that gets celebrated in football these days. Fans will bel buying the products they plug in those ghastly commercials next.

The idea of not celebrating individual skill bemuses me. Especially if it works for the team

I'm taking the exterior things out of it. The media, the advertising, pre and post match interviews, etc

I would rather watch a game with players with fantastic skill and control of the ball, than a game filled with cloggers

To be fair, there's nothing disrespectful about taking a penalty in a way that increases the likelihood of scoring.

It might look unconventional, but it divided the keeper's attention between two players and it went in.

It's the same as knocking it down the centre. It works if the keeper has dived to the side. Otherwise, it doesn't. Why is it disrespectful?

I don't really mind that sort of thing. It probably evens itself out when stuff like that doesn't work, and you end up looking ridiculous cf Pires/ Henry, or the infamous David Dunn rabona effort.

I think there's always going to be a point where utter supremacy leads to "showboating", and then there's a moveable line - depending on the individual - when that crosses over into "blatantly taking the piss".

I suppose that is very much dependent on how you view football and the balance between it being a professional sport all about winning, and a form of entertainment. It's pretty hard really, you kind of need both, because without the "entertainment" bit, you have no advertising revenue and gargantuan TV deals.

But I certainly err more towards "Detroit Pistons" than "Harlem Globetrotters", and I'd have enjoyed that Barcelona clip more of they'd missed, although that might be due to my hatred of Barcelona (svn though I love Suarez)
