Barca fans not liking Coutinho

They thought they'd signed a world class midfielder. An Iniesta replacement.

But he was never that.

He was a world class left wing forward though.

I've always thought he shot too much for a possession side like Barcelona. He will really need to adapt his game to fit in.

It's all about Klopp.
He turned a quality player into a world class player . Who turned back Into a decent player once he left.
Klopp turned a player relegated with hull into a top class player.

Virgil was a top prem player at soton but here he's out of this world.

Klopp isn't all powerful however.. He's done nowt with Moreno. Though to be fair maybe Moreno is playing out of his skin Just to be at this level and his actual level is with them west derby old boys

I’d completely forgotten about both he and Can. Shows how far we’ve come. Not sure on Coutinho, but I don’t think Can would have gotten off the bench with the squad we have now.

Fuck Can and everything, and it's academic as he's been injured, but as Henderson is still getting a game, Can would have too

They've been playing him on the wing and expecting him to be Neymar. It was never going to work. He needs to be the furthest forward in a midfield three.

But fuck him and fuck Barca. I hope they all go to shit.

I never thought Coutinho was worth £140M, and definitely not worth a VvD + Alisson.
He's a very good player but not as good as that price tag may suggest.

....

This is the main reason. There were many players that Klopp has been responsible for making look world class in the team's that he has created, by creating an environment where they can produce their very best. But a world class player like your Suarez - can produce his very best in any team you put him in, and they have the football game intelligence plus emotional intelligence. If you look at some of his players during his time at Dortmund that got bought by bigger clubs like Sahin, and Kagawa - they have not succeeded, and even Gundogan at City is not a full time selection their. The case of Moreno - is that I think physically, and pace wise - he is a perfect Klopp player but for those moments of hot-headedness and Savilla Kryptonite he would be ideal. But decision making by players in his system MUST show continuous improvement others I don't think he can work with them - case being Jordan Ibe.

Coutinho produced moments of brilliance for us - but never consistently in his time here, and as @rurikbird stats proved we drew a lot of those games. I am convinced you cannot put those drawn games down to a bad defenders but more more so because when you had Coutinho, Salah, Mane, and Firmino in the same side - you only had two other midfielders to do the recycling job. Given that none of our other MF's were professional DM's - it made us soft-centred. Was worried when he left about the creative and midfield threat but with Ox stepping up and the front three doing their own creative work - he was not missed and we improved defensively, as we always had at least three players in midfield that could tackle and get the ball rather than two. Let's face it Coutinho was shit at his defensive duties and it was always 50-50 he would be good enough for Barca based upon his previous experience of playing for a big team at Inter and not getting a look in, we all knew too well of how he use to drift slowly out of games to.

I love Klopp so much I want to have his babies and will pay for the sex change myself to make that a reality ... but, to be fair, Coutinho was putting in world class performances under Rodgers. I don't buy into the assertion that, in this instance, he took a rough diamond and turned him good. He may have improved Coutinho somewhat, but he had a very high base to start from

The Real Madrid president laughed at the quoted price for Coutinho at the time because he was aware of the players history of being loaned out to Espanyol and just warming the bench at Inter. Yes he showed moments of brilliance but he was NEVER consistent under Rodgers. Also the guy has a shyness issue i - I think he lacks a mental confidence that you would associate with the Suarez's of this world. He is very good against those teams that lack a midfield of any quality or desire.

Guys..reading the Barca fans comments regarding Coutinho...holding onto the ball too much and over complicating shit rather than doing the simple shit...if only Barca had waited .... they could have got Shaq for 13M over the summer...plus Shaq would know the Barca way having had a season and a bit under Pep.

Coutinho was and is a quality player. No point rewriting history. We’d be stronger with him but there’s no doubt Barca overpaid.
He paid for VVD and Allison. So if we had him, we may not have had them.

VVD alone, is better for our team balance. Let alone toss a good GK on top of that.

We (finally) spent the Barca cash wisely.

Yes - totally agree - I was just pointing out that Barca bought the wrong type of player. Shaq was probably the right type of player for them, he scores goals, and is always looking to move the ball on without holding onto it too long, plus he can and does track back and has more strength than Coutinho ever demonstrated.
