Liverpool are encouraging Ajax boss Martin Jol to bid for Ryan Babel.

The News of the World says Babel will jet back home to Ajax in January if Liverpool get £6million for the striker.

Boss Rafa Benitez has stood by the Dutch flop, 22, and offered him a fresh chance this season.

But his patience has run out and Benitez will listen to offers.

Babel expressed interest in signing for Ajax on-loan last month, but Benitez is keen to raise cold, hard cash for his own transfer plans in January.

I certainly wouldn't be against this. He has had so many chances now, we just have to flog him. If we could get 6 millwe might see a good player arrive in january.

What are they doing? Pinning him down and tickling him until he caves in?

Yeah, I think it'd be a good idea, if only to offload the 'Babel debate' onto the forums of another club.

I can't imagine we'll spend any proper money in Jan, but at least there are one or two opportunities for a bargain. VDV on a loan? Can't hurt, surely?

It'll end up being an undisclosed fee.

The Special One would turn babel into a world beater.

God couldn't even turn Babel into a quarter of a world beater. HIS attitude is atrocious

Torres cost 20 million plus. He was our record signing. Be was already a long long way to being the real deal.

No, like he did with his Dutch league star, Kezman.

How about Ricardo Quaresma. The special one paid > 20 million for him also and sent him out on loan 6 months later.

So far this season for RM he's started 1 and 4 as sub. He's scored 0 goals, provided 0 assists and had 7 shots on goal (1 on target)

[Last season: - 20 starts, 20 as on as Sub - 6 goals & 5 assists]

No-one could turn Babel into a world-beater. Quite simply, he's not very good.

I don't think anyone, not even spidey, would miss Babel. But if we sell him, we would HAVE to buy a replacement. Our squad is thin enough already. (Except for Dossena, obv.)

If this turns out to be close to true (say we got £5M if it came to it), we should snap Ajax's hands off.

Babel was played out of position by Rafael and now when everything went wrong for Babel, Rafael wants to sell him for 5-6mil. Good job Rafael.

Babel was a left forward in a 4-3-3 at Ajax Glock.

Not too dissimilar to his position at Liverpool, except that he didn't have to track back as much.

his tweets kinda get annoying now. means fuck all tbh, it's not like he's giving inside infos. all he ever does is re-tweet stuff from his fave reverend too.

I normally follow this line - but I think the blame should also go on Babel, who just seems to not have what it takes to succeed under a manager like Rafa.

Now he may do so in another league under Jol or whoever (I do believe this will probably happen), but as of now, he's not been very good most of his games ... and doesn't deserve to play games unless injuries or suspensions make it a necessity.
