Klavan binman of the match
What's he doing playing with the reserves? I mean, I thought he was bound for Barca, PSG or Juventus?
Yea, fuck you Modo.Oh look, the retarded, shit stirring version of Modo is back. You must be chuffed tonight, Lallana had a nothing game and Henderson missed a penalty. Go and have an English hatred fueled wank or something.
Another final loss for Klopp.
Klaven and Gomez are just not good enough back up CB options. Neither would a game for many PL clubs.
Paul Ince always sounds like hes about to burst into tears.
I think tonight confirms that our squad lacks depth.
I agree. Though to be fair he's been out for ages and it's going to be a while for him to get back into it. A few sub appearances when we're in control would not harm. A very mixed bag from him but this competition has been a good run out.Grujic looks like he could get a bit of game time this season.
I wouldn't be crazy on the idea of Gomez playing right back against Palace,
He seems to get caught out of position ball watching too frequently
Probably the sanest post I've read on 6CM for a while.I think all it confirmed was that there were a lot of tired legs out there. Whoever signed us up to play two games in two days needs a smack. In fact it's obvious Klopp has been distinctly unimpressed with the whole itinerary this summer.
As for the squad, I've said many times that we ideally need six or seven really good players. Well, we've signed an excellent one in Salah and two promising ones in Solanke and Robertson, and hopefully we'll get VVD. So that will be four. We also have some very good young players in Kent, Woodburn and TAA more or less ready to play a role. And, fingers crossed, we'll soon have long-term absentees Gomez and Ings back in contention. Maybe Flanagan too if he really has overcome those knee problems. So I don't think there's any need to get overly anxious. I'd like us to get a couple more players but we haven't done badly so far.
I think tonight confirms that our squad lacks depth. We've got some truly outstanding footballers but they can't do 50 games in 10 months.
Not only have we stalled on signing first team game changers we seem to have failed regarding the second 11 - only one LB recruited so far unless we consider Solanke.
I'm getting nervous
I know it's preseason ... and I know Bayern have looked shit ... but we created chances non-stop against two of the top teams in Europe.
If we can keep the core healthy this year - Firmino, Salah, Mane, Coutinho - we will be a dangerous team in every competition.
We need to sort out or defense, but until injuries/AFCON creeped up last year, we were doing really well despite that ...
