I know it's preseason ... and I know Bayern have looked shit ... but we created chances non-stop against two of the top teams in Europe.
If we can keep the core healthy this year - Firmino, Salah, Mane, Coutinho - we will be a dangerous team in every competition.
We need to sort out or defense, but until injuries/AFCON creeped up last year, we were doing really well despite that ...

To be honest I didn't think we created much last night, which is typical of us against a deep lying side. Maybe our first string would have created more. Anyway as I said a couple of days ago I thought the idea of two games in 48 hours was fucking mental.

I actually agree with Modo (not on his stupid project hates) but that we actually weren't learning that much against Bayern. It would have been better to see the full strength team trying to dismantle Simeone's deep and well marshalled defence. I do think that both Mane and Salah have the skill and close control to help unpick those kinds of defenses as well as being outstanding on the break agianst teams that take the game to us, but it would be nice to see it in practice.

But we knew we were playing Bayern, but did not know if we were playing At Madrid or Napoli until after both games. Kind of hard to plan then.

Napoli would present a similar test though. They would also have been more defensive than Bayern.

Maybe... But we would not know who we were up against in terms of Clubs or personell. I see the Logic of preparing to give Bayern a lesson, and then just take it as it comes after that.

All I'm saying is we know we can take on teams that try and come out against us.

The pre-season games dont change the fact we need a DM and a CB before the season starts or we are fucked.
