He'll probably have a game this season where he's really given the run around - it could even come in a few days - and he'll need support after that, but I agree with you, he's surprised me with how much he's improved in a year.

Actually, I've been thinking - one nice unintended consequence of having no fans in stadia is that this could spark a bit of a golden era for young defenders coming through, because they're really being talked through games. Normally they'd come on and find themselves plunged into semi-chaos, and most of the talk is drowned out and they're left to sink or swim. Quite a few promising defenders have faded away because of that. Now the likes of Williams can come in and it's almost like a coaching session, and they're much calmer and more quickly settled. He's certainly benefitting.
