Celtic can beat anyone on their home patch, and the atmosphere will be rather more intimidating in Celtic Park than the Emirates. Still not likely, but stranger things have happened.

no chance. arsenal will smash them home and away.

No one smashes Celtic mate.
They may be inferior to Arsenal, but they won't be battered.

Celtic have a record of one home defeat in Europe in 35 CL games.

They've held their own against better sides than the Arse in Europe before now. I still make the Arse favourites, but not by much.

I remember both Utd and Milan struggling past Celtic, so it might not be easy.

Mowbray has a better team to work with than he did at West Brom but if he shows the same sort of naivety in the CL, the end result with be the same.

Interesting tie, and it just emphasises how important it is to finish higher up the CL sports.

Would be worth putting a few quid on.

Agreed. I was a bit surprised they appointed him TBH.

it'll be a fun 2 games to watch at the very least. i reckon celtic will be too strong and direct for arsenal, especially at the beginning of a season.

Im just glad its not us. Whilst I would be coinfident of going through it would be a tie you cold do without

I've watched a bit of Arsenal in pre-Season and had the honour to follow Celtic closely in last years Champions Leauge as they were knocked out by Aalborg.

If that's anything to go by then Arsenal will win this easily.

not really what Tony Mowbray goes for though is it?

Celtic appointed him because they crave attacking football even at the expense of success.

It's a big factor in why Strachan wasn't warmed to by the fans.

Yup. Celtic pride themselves on playing, what Ruud Gullit called, Sexy Football.

With Strachan and O'Neill they've been lacking in that department for a while. I think Strachan never was liked anyhoo, just because of his irritable demeanour, and his past with Aberdeen, as much as the footy TBH.

Yeah. I really fancy them.

Arsenal will go through.

this is an interesting tie and could go either way. if Arsenal turn up and are allowed to play they will brush them aside.

however, since it's early season this might not be the case, also they have to go to Celtic park and Celtic will have a lot of confidence with a new manager and getting a result away from home for the first time in the CL to make it here. they will surely make this competitive as they can so it could be a bit closer.

it all depends on whether celtic let them play. if they get in their faces and work hard they could pull it off though, i'm hoping they can but I suspect Arsenal will just outplay them in the end 🙁
