So, most of the Arse squad is either injured or heading the exit door... What worries me is that we've fared worse against their youngsters than senior teams in the last couple of seasons.
*gets flashback of '3-6' game* 🙁

What's going on at Arsenal is bizarre. I'd have had them 4th comfortably but they're trying their best to give it away.

They've either got a load of tremendous signings up their sleeve or Wenger is on an even bigger ego trip than usual. If it's the latter, and they miss the 4, his position will be untenable.

every other set of fans think our signings are completely ridiculous. as we would if it were any other team.

You are one of the most grumpy posters on here.

At least give the guys a chance, as I'm pretty sure at least two of them will prove you and whatever other fans you are referring too well wrong.

it's just a fact -- and the reason why arse still reckon they'll beat us even with their depleted team.

i'd honestly put a screwdriver up your nose if you said that to my face.

if we fail to get a result or even a draw then 6CM (or any other liverpool football site for that matter) will be best avoided for at least a couple of days.

if we don't get a result something is going on fire

Against sunderland i wore the new away shirt, this sat i'm wearing the third kit. Hopefully it will be some kind of lovely lucky charm.

bit harsh, i'm telling mum

if we can't beat this arsenal side or sunderland at home after the money we've just spent then we should be very concerned. we have deffo bought these players, and paid a premium, for them to hit the ground running.

We might have lost a few good players, but Liverpool are ****. Not only that, but they have spent all summer buying up all the mediocre British talent they could muster. Blew at least 100mil on dross that spent more time in the championship than premier league...

Anyways, Downing, Henderson, and Adam don't scare me. Vermaelen will have Carroll in his back pocket, and we will score more than a few. If Hull City and Guangzhou Greentown could put 3 goals past them, why can't we? We aren't facing Barcelona, we aren't facing Manchester United. We're facing the worst Liverpool team in history.

Its certainly as repetitive as Rawk, Skullflower and Ross...and just as interesting.

Henderson is an excellent, excellent prospect, who should shortly be a mainstay of the team for the forseesable future.

Kuyt should still be starting ahead of him against Arse.

Agreed.

We haven't one at Arsenal since 2001 when Titi Camara bagged the winner, meaning I'm not confident of victory. Wilshire, Ramsay and Song have the ability to outclass us through the middle, and we appear to lack the tenacity required to prevent them controlling the play. Also, our midfield and attack are linking far too poorly for any sort of sustained pressure to build up, and our fitness levels are very worrying. I would be more confident if we hadn't faded so badly against Sunderland in the second half, but it appears unlikely that we can put in the sort of performance over 90 minutes required to steal all three points. Flannigan, Adam and Henderson should find themselves on the bench with Kelly, Meireles and Kuyt taking their place. We need players who are capable of winning us the match out on the pitch and that's certainly true of the later two.

In our favour Arsenal will require plenty of organisation this week, so it's difficult to know how they will come out. It's going to be an interesting tie.

I remember that 2001 win at highbury like it were yesterday, we had to fight like lions to take that victory and we haven't come close since. have we even taken the lead in away game at arsenal since?

history smishtory. we should be winning this game. their team cost less than henderson probably.

You are talking like we've already lost it.

Man up a bit and believe in our players eh? Like the Arse-fans are believing in theirs despite them beeing obviously inferiour to us at the moment.

We'll beat Arsenal.

*But if we don't it's not the end of world as we'd still be only two games into the Season.

Everyones laughing at our overpriced former championship level signings and it would be nice if Kenny has the last laugh. Starting Saturday with Carroll, Downing and Adam proving why we took the risks on them. We all know the qualities they bring to the team so it would be so good to see it click into place and tell everyone to go and fuck themselves.

Think we need a bit of fixture luck this year too... Seems like in the past we always play teams when they are in a bit of form, this is the perfect time to go to Arsenal and batter them for once.

Apparently to cheer himself up after being sent off at the weekend Gervinho went to an all you can eat chinese buffet, £10 a head.

He got charged thirty quid.

I don't know who this 'everyone' is but ALL the pundits I saw (ESPN, BBC, Star Sports etc.) had nothing but positive things to say about our team - and particularly our first half performance on Saturday. They all seem to believe that not only should we have wrapped it up in the 1st half (we should) but that there is a lot more to come from this team and that a Top 4 is the minimum they should achieve.

I've got to say I was very surprised. I was sat there waiting for the usual onslaught (except for Macca).
