ignore them, queef. you are most welcome here 🙂

This is how we're lining up at the moment..

Torres
Maxi Gerrard Kuyt
Raul Lucas

Imagine Aquilani and Suarez as the attacking forwards in place of Kuyt and Maxi.. We'd still have fuck all width but we'd pass other teams off the pitch..

If people think that Meireles shirks the 50/50 tackles then they must have forgotten how Aqualini reacted to them.
For my money Raul is much more suited to the Premier league and is every bit the player that Aqualini is.

Alberto got a chance to shine in a couple of this season's early Europa league ties and failed to do so.
If Juve are willing to cough up £13m for his permanent transfer then I will be happy with that.

He got more assists from when he was actually fit in Feb till the end of the season than anyone else in the EPL.. Despite playing for a shite team in 7th place.. If we get offered 17mill i'd sell.. untill then I feel we can get more out of him.

They'll try and beat us down from the agreed price and we should resist that, as I'm pretty sure they'll abide by the price in the end. Overall, though, the money will do us a lot more good than the disgruntled and resentful player he'd be if we made him return now.

For sure JJ.
If he is playing that well for Juve then there will be a number of Italian clubs at least, willing to pay the agreed fee or more.

And Jimmy, I have no idea what Meireles's stats are for this season but in my book he has looked a more impressive performer than Aqualini did, and that playing in an even worse team than last season.

Aqua is always going to be a player who will be remembered as not having a chance at this club, and rightly so. But history will favour him and it will be forgotten that he was a little bit of a shithouse, especially if he forges a good career for himself now. I'm not happy we're rid, but i can understand the reasoning. Plus if raul kicks on and is more consistent then ideally we won't miss him too much

Lol Meireles is as hard as Rocky Marciano if you are comparing him with Alberto Aquilani.

I'd be very disappointed if we don't try and get Juve to pay at least the 13 million agreed fee. I'm still fucking pissed off about paying 4 million for Poulsen. I doubt we'd be able to sell him on for half that value.

We should do an Ajax and bump up the price at the end of the season.

THIS IS WITH OUT DOUBT ROYS FAULT. Aqualani said he wanted to proove himself, yet Roy never gave him the chance.

I don't agree with that. Heaven knows Roy got plenty wrong, but Aquilani was never going to be a real success in English football.

People make out like he was forced out, he said the things he HAD to say to the media. As soon as he arrived in Italy he said different things about how he was honoured to be there and wanted to stay there for good, etc. I think there was more to it than just Hodgson sending him packing. He was a symbol of what had gone wrong under Benitez in the last two years. A £20m flop, even though he was a very good player, ultimately that's what he became.

I agree with that JJ.
In the four or five games Alberto played at the start of this season he showed little to suggest that he would make it in the premiership.

Go back and look at the match ratings that he was involved in under Roy.
I will be shocked if he gets anything above mediocre ratings.

In my opinion he was showing signs of improvement. Given the choice of Poulson or Aqua who would you have chosen?
